2007 Triumph America, Good looking bike - The America is just made for the open road. It feels planted and rides easy. For 2007 the jet-black, parallel twin motor has been cranked up to 865 cc to give the bike more torque. And more torque means fewer gear changes - just what is needed for relaxed cruising. The riding position puts the rider at the center of the universe with a low, sofa of a seat that lets feet be planted firmly on the ground when coming to a stop. The pillion gets a exceptionally comfortable riding experience too with a roomy seat. Spinning a beefy, 170/80-section rear tire (crowning a new-for-2007 cast 15-inch rim) through a five-speed gearbox the engine fires its heartbeat out through a pair of deep-chrome reverse cone silencers. Heavy duty, wide set telescopic forks add substance and a solid look to the America’s raked front end, as does the new 18-inch cast front wheel, shod with its 110/90 tire. Disc brakes front and rear matched to twin-piston calipers take care of the stopping duties. Cruising is all about the essence of freedom and individuality and the America provides both. Latus Motors Reveals Gary Nixon Tribute Livery for Triumph Daytona 675R AMA Race Bike
Tue, 13 Mar 2012Latus Motors is honoring the late Gary Nixon with a special livery for its Triumph 675R entry in the 2012 Daytona 200. Nixon passed away last year after a heart attack but his memory will live on at Daytona. Defending Daytona 200 winner Jason DiSalvo will try to repeat on the Triumph Daytona 675R wearing leathers inspired by Nixon’s gear as well as the racing legend’s #9.

Tue, 05 Apr 2011With the full factory fitted arrow system and map fitted it was time to give the Speed a run on a Dyno to see where the power is at. Over two runs the best results were as follows; Power at the crank : 130bhp & 75 ft.lbs torque Power at the gearbox : 124bhp & 72 ft.lbs torque Power at the wheel : 119bhp & 69 ft.lbs torque The bike has covered 4200 miles and is due its first proper service at 6000 so you would expect to see a reduction in power. Triumph claim on a brand new bike the Speed Triple at best puts out 135bhp and 82 ft.lbs torque at the crank with the cans fitted, effectively mine has lost 5bhp and 7ft.lbs of torque.

The FZ-07 has since morphed into the MT-07 amidst a host of well thought-out upgrades in 2018, and then again for 2021. The Z650 got a modern instrument pod in 2020 with a few other tasteful refinements, and the SV650 hasn’t changed a bit (God bless it).
