Triumph Other description

Auction is for a 1967 Triumph T100C in very nice shape and ready to roll. The bike is originally from Maine and moved to Michigan with the present owner. It just underwent a recent checkup and tune-up by professional triumph specialist here in Michigan. The motor was completely rebuilt several years ago and turned over regularly while waiting for the owner to finish and get it up and running. The recent decay test performed last fall showed 0% leak down. It has approximately 56 miles on it with a original NOS speedo in place. The motor was completely rebuilt by a noted Brit specialist in Maine ( Ackerman antiques ) yaers ago but turned over regular as noted before. It contains NEW Hepolite pistons, NOS (OEM) connecting rods and bearings. The rebuild of the bike includes a Boyer ignition, carbs rebuilt, NEW Avon tires, NEW seat, petcocks and battery. During the process, a NOS gas tank was used but painted 1968 colors as the owner preferred this color and believed it stands out better than 1967. The bike starts via an on/off toggle switch mounted to the triple tree via a custom billet bracket and requires no key. Sale includes a owners handbook and shop manual. The bike needs new gators and there is a small scratch/ding in the tank during moving years ago to Michigan. It is essentially a one kick start, shifts smooth and purrs like a kitten and has a clear Michigan title. Bike is being sold for a friend so should you have questions please allow a day or two for response time.

Unchained: 2013 Triumph Rocket III Free of Power Restrictions

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

Triumph has updated its Rocket III cruiser for 2013, adding more blacked-out components and a new seat, but perhaps the most significant change is what Triumph took away: the electronic torque limiter. Previous versions of the Triumph Rocket III and the Rocket III Touring variant had its power and torque neutered in the first three gears. The reins are off for 2013 however, with the Rocket III’s 2294cc engine delivering full power in all gears.

Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?

Tue, 30 Dec 2008

A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.
