Up for Sale is a 1948 Triumph T100 Speed Twin Motorcycle. Frame # T.F. 12974. Transmission # T.E. 107516. No motor number on case ( see picture). Previous Owner was building this bobber project in the 1970's and never quite finished and sat since the 1980's. Carburetor was cleaned and gas tank flushed. No battery, Magneto only. Bike does fire up and run but will need some more fine turning. Mileage is unknown. Gas tank has no dents. Inside is clean. Front and rear brakes work. Shifts though the gears. Chrome does have pitting/ rust in spots. The headlight and tail light need to be wired. One broken fin on the head (see picture). You receive what is pictured. Triumph Tiger Explorer and Trophy SE Recalled for Throttle Position Sensor Error
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Triumph is recalling a combined total of 2,800 units of the Tiger Explorer and Trophy SE due to a problem with the electronic control unit detecting the throttle position. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the ECU’s detection threshold is set too tightly and it lacked proper signal filtering, causing it to prematurely detecting a deviation in the throttle butterfly position. The ECU would then activate the ride-by-wire system’s safety shutdown, closing the throttle butterly valve and cutting the fuel and ignition.
Triumph’s 500,000th Production Motorcycle Headed to Auction on July 1st
Thu, 16 Jun 2011It was less than a month ago that Triumph’s 500,000th production motorcycle, a special Speed Triple with commemorative paint job, rolled off the line. World-famous auction house, Bonhams, has recently announced that it will put the special Trumpet on the auction block on July 1, 2011, during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Comedian Ross Noble has completed his Sit Down Tour of Great Britain with the milestone Triumph, and now the bike is ready to raise money for Riders for Health charity.
