Triumph Daytona description

At the 73rd running of the Daytona 200, Danny Eslick piloted his #69 Discount Racing Triumph Daytona 675R to the win. It was Triumph’s first Daytona 200 win since Gary Nixon accomplished the feat back in 1967.

And to commemorate Eslick’s historic win, Triumph released 47 Daytona 675R Eslick Edition sport bikes. These track-only motorcycles will don commemorative paint and graphics.

“Each 675R Eslick Edition motorcycle is individually numbered, hand signed by Danny Eslick, customized with a combination of Triumph Genuine Accessories and hand selected aftermarket accessories, and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity,” Triumph says.

“The custom paint features the authentic Riders Discount Racing and AMA Pro Road Racing sponsor decals as used on the Daytona 200-winning bike.”

The 675R will also feature same performance parts on Eslick’s Daytona 200-winning bike. The parts include Attack Performance rear sets, Renthal grips and sprockets, as well as a 520 DID ERV3 gold chain. Also included are many Triumph Genuine Accessories, which include Lower Chain Guard, Red Anodized Chain Adjustment Blocks, Paddock Stand Bobbins, Engine Cover Kit, Seat Cowl Kit, Billet Oil Filler Cap and Oil Dipstick which are pre-drilled to be safety wired for track day and race riding.

Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.

Freedom Friday Photo Contest

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

Freedom Friday is a call-to-action on the AMA’s Facebook page each Friday to alert motorcyclists about issues posing threats to motorcycling freedoms. Riders can partake in a weekly contest related to these issues and win prizes. Each week’s Freedom Friday photo contest asks AMA members to send a photo of themselves, preferably with their bike, near a symbol of the current topic. The issue that kicks off today is access discrimination, which can be illustrated with a photo of a “No Motorcycles Allowed” sign, “Wilderness” sign or anything related to freedom to illustrate their concern as a motorcyclist.

The Steve McQueen Desert Racer

Tue, 24 Mar 2009

There are few motorcycle icons within pop culture that have endured as vividly as that of the late, great Steve McQueen. A man who was at one time the highest paid actor in Hollywood, he avoided the limelight in favor of immersing himself within his passion for motorcycles. Never afraid of getting dirty, McQueen was at his happiest flogging a bike around the track with fellow racers or tinkering with the machines himself.
