Full ground up restoration:
Re-bore new Pistons and rings Crank/Pistons/Conrods dynamically balanced Sludge trap cleaned, new big end shells and big end regrind. New valves, valve springs. New clutch basket and clutch roller bearings. New carburetors (Amal Monobloc) New header pipes and mufflers New battery, wiring Harness New high output alternator New control cables New Boyer electronic ignition (New 6v Coils) Reconditioned tachometer and speedometer New oil pump (Spin on Norton oil filter fitted) Every seal and bearing replaced (in the Engine and in the frame) Respray all frame parts and tank/Fenders to original factory color. New seat and seat foam Original tool kit New tires, and final drive chain Pink slip in hand tags until June 2017 500 miles since complete restoration receipts for over $7000, I also have manuals and restoration photographs. Thu, 24 Mar 2011Well it was inevitable really, the gloriously sticky and not very durable Metzler Racetec K3's had seen their last mile on the Triumph. After being ripped through 2500 miles by the Speeds thumping 1050 Triple motor the rear had all but squared off. To replace them I’ve opted for Bridgestones new BT-16 Pro's because their previous incarnation had proved to offer supersport grip in the corners but also offer high mileage rates.

Single sided chain adjustment
Wed, 14 Apr 2010We don’t get the manuals with our long term bikes and I didn’t want swallow my pride and ask triumph how to adjust the chain on the Speed Triple. For the life of me I couldn’t figure it out. The single side swing arm with centrally mounted disk is a work of art but how the hell you are supposed to adjust the thing?
