Triumph Bonneville description

One of a kind, custom creation, a work of art.  2005, one owner, modified into a retro "1966 TT" Bonneville 800, w/carbureted engine.  At 21,000 miles I decided to put her on the lift and go over "everything", front to back.  During this complete service and inspection (all work records/receipts included), I decided to transform her into my high school dream machine and "retro" her into a replica of my former 1966 TT Bonneville that took me everywhere in my youth.  Ahhh, those were the days!  Long hair, skinny body, wide bellbottom jeans, great music....oh yeah...the bike.  She is perfect in every way, new tires, fenders, sprockets and chain, custom paint, retro seat, luggage rack, tach/speedo, spit & polish, very well maintained and mechanically in top shape.  Get on this time machine and ride back to Woodstock or at least to Starbucks.  I can't go anywhere or stop and get gas without someone talking to me and telling me their "Triumph" story, what a blast!  I have too many other bike projects I am working on now and something has to go.  My loss is your gain.  Well over $7000.00 invested, not to mention my time.  She needs NOTHING but a new and loving home.  You will not find a nicer example anywhere.  Email me any questions and I will do my best to answer quickly.  I can assist you with shipping or maybe even deliver her to you, if arrangements are made in advance.  (I really hate to see her go.)

Filling a void with an RD350LC

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Last winter I managed to fill a void in my life when I stumbled on a very reasonably priced Yamaha RD350LC.  It was a tad scruffy, had the wrong exhausts but most importantly it was blue and white with all numbers matching.  I had the usual euphoria when the deal was done but I underestimated how much pleasure this particular purchase would continue to deliver another eight months down the line. The difference with this old bike is, instead of just taking it for the occasional ride I was talked into doing a full nut and bolt restoration.  Having never taking a bike apart completely before, initially it was quite daunting but I soon found the RD is easy to work on so it turned into a truly satisfying experience.  I’ve had some help from LC enthusiasts with the rebuild, however, the stripping, sourcing and organising was a total labour of love.  And call me sad but it has made me bond with this bike like no other which only adds to the feel good factor.  The bike cost £1800 and I’ve spent around £1000 but I reckon my mint Elsie is now worth a fair bit more.   I fancy rejuvenating a Fizzy  next time but there’s lots of other cheap 70’s and 80’s winter projects  out there so why not have a go yourself?

This Used to be a Triumph Daytona 675 Race Bike [Video]

Thu, 29 Sep 2011

Crashes occur fairly often during motorcycle races but rarely do we see a race bike get as spectacularly demolished as this Triumph Daytona 675. The crash took place during the Sept.  11 Donington Park round of the Triumph Triple Challenge, a support class in the British Superbike series featuring the Triumph Daytona 675. Rider Ash Beech low sides going into a corner and thankfully slides relatively safely into the grass.
