Triumph Bonneville description

You are bidding on a beautiful 2004 Triumph Thruxton motorcycle. Runs great, starts quick, stops fast, and it is a joy to ride! This past weekend I did around 300+ miles and it was a blast. Once you get used to the low handlebar position, it is really easy to get comfortable and do long rides.

The owner before me did a number of smart aftermarket modifications to the bike. As far as performance modifications go, he also replaced the airbox and put on cone filters, re-jetted the carbs, installed a steering stabilizer, put on new ikon rear shocks and front springs, thunderbike 2-1 custom exhaust, and replaced the chain with a belt drive, which reduces maintenance, cleaning, and increases longevity and power. If you ride this bike after you ride a stock Thruxton, you can definitely notice a difference in power and handling. There are also a number of add ons that make the bike look much nicer such as the lucas style tail light, LED gauge conversion, a clutch cleanup kit, fork gaitors, red aluminum bits, cut down rear fender, and a center stand that is super useful for storage.  Overall there are over $3000 in parts on this bike, and that is just the cost of the parts themselves.

I get compliments on the bike all the time and people are especially interested in the belt conversion that was done.

Condition: I would say that is bike is in "very good" condition. Physically, on a scale from 1-10 I would give it a 7 while Mechanically I would give it a 9. The rear tire should be replaced sometime next season, but the front tire is still nice. There are some small chips and scratches, one of which is on the bottom right side of the fuel tank. It does not go down to the metal. Horn, lights, blinkers, starter, etc. are all functioning properly. Belt is almost new and has upwards of 18k miles before it needs to be adjusted/replaced. Oil was changed this season, roughly 2500 miles ago. Battery is strong.

You will get the bike, 2 keys (including a cool custom key), color matched front visor, color matched rear tail cap (tail cap has a hole drilled in it due to previous tail light mounting), and the stock rear tail light assembly.

Please let me know if you have any questions on the bike as I will be happy to answer them. Thanks!

Watch: 2011 Speed Triple Dyno run

Tue, 05 Apr 2011

With the full factory fitted arrow system and map fitted it was time to give the Speed a run on a Dyno to see where the power is at. Over two runs the best results were as follows; Power at the crank : 130bhp & 75 ft.lbs torque Power at the gearbox : 124bhp & 72 ft.lbs torque Power at the wheel : 119bhp & 69 ft.lbs torque The bike has covered 4200 miles and is due its first proper service at 6000 so you would expect to see a reduction in power. Triumph claim on a brand new bike the Speed Triple at best puts out 135bhp and 82 ft.lbs torque at the crank with the cans fitted, effectively mine has lost 5bhp and 7ft.lbs of torque.
