Triumph Bonneville description

2001 Triumph Bonneville 790cc. 10,044 miles. Clear title (California). Registration paid through February 10, 2017.

Included: Black leather panniers kit ($400 value; assembly required), Haynes Service & Repair book ($65 value), and owner's manual.

This has been a fun bike. Selling because wife and I will be retiring and are starting process of downsizing. It's time to clear out my garage "toys".

This "new"Bonneville, reintroduced by the new Triumph company in November 2000, shares the name, engine configuration and style of the "old" Bonneville T120 and T140, but that is about all it shares.  The new Bonneville maintains the styling and character of the popular old models but infuses the bike with modern technology including a 790cc parallel twin air and oil-cooled engine. A 360-degree crank means the pistons rise and fell simultaneously, but are set to fire on alternate strokes. Twin balancer shafts run off a gear on the right-hand end of the crankshaft to eliminate most of the vibration, while leaving enough to provide essential character. A central cam chain drives the double overhead camshafts actuating four valves per cylinder.

For more information, see Haynes Service & Repair Manual for this bike (a copy is included with this sale).

Motorcycle Freestyle Rider Ernie Vigil Puts Triumph’s Scrambler Through The Wringer [Video]

Wed, 21 Mar 2012

With its on/off-road tires, spoke wheels, high rise dual exhaust, protective fork gators and flat one-piece seat and handlebar, Triumph’s Scrambler evokes notions of a McQueen-esque go anywhere, do anything machine in a modern motorcycle. It’s probably safe to assume few Scrambler owners today put their retrofied rides to the test, seeing just how much abuse the 865cc parallel-Twin-powered Scrambler can take. However, in this Triumph North America video, freestyle rider Ernie Vigil (the video’s editor and co-creator) does what most Scrambler owners wish they were capable of with their new/old Trumpet.

2022 Triumph Speed Twin Review

Mon, 16 Aug 2021

A little more of everything, along with Euro 5 It was just about a year ago when we sampled Triumph’s reborn Speed Twin for the first time on home soil, in a two-bike standoff against a way-more-expensive optioned-out BMW R nineT. At the time, we were slightly underwhelmed and had to rate the new Speed Twin second, by a hair. 2022 Triumph Speed Twin Editor Score: 89.0% Engine 18.5/20 Suspension/Handling 13.0/15 Transmission/Clutch 9.0/10 Brakes 9.0/10 Instruments/Controls 3.5/5 Ergonomics/Comfort 9.5/10 Appearance/Quality 9.5/10 Desirability 8.5/10 Value 8.5/10 Overall Score 89/100 It was mostly a suspension thing; the Triumph’s old-timey 41mm cartridge fork and twin rear shocks couldn’t compete with the R nineT’s plush, adjustable setup.
