Triumph Bonneville description
1971 TRIUMPH T120R BONNEVILLE 650 TRIKE PROJECT CLASSIC 3-WHEELER WITH EXTENDED FORKS NO RESERVE - YOU BID, YOU WIN! * * * PRICE LOWERED * * * CHASSIS & BRACKETS - Custom made trike raked chassis with extended forks and "live" axle. SUSPENSION - Front forks need total overhaul, no rear suspension. WHEELS, BRAKES & TIRES - NO WORKING BRAKES. Rear sprocket can accept disc brake caliper; front brakes need total overhaul. Mercury Marquis "snowflake" alloy rear wheels. Tires had good tread, but are old. ENGINE - Appears all original. I have not opened the engine, but would recommend a total overhaul. Intake & Exhaust - Mikuni carbs in good shape with UNI foam filters. Basic straight pipes with open mini-megaphones. Ignition - Original points & condensers HAND & FOOT CONTROLS - Original footpegs, no shifter or brake pedal. Handlebars may not be exactly as in photo, but will be good bars, not bent or rusted. NO ELECTRICAL, LIGHTING, METERS, CABLES OR DRIVE CHAIN. BODYWORK - Vintage "peanut" style tank of unknown origin. No fenders no sidecover. Oil tank with rough paint. Groovy "king & queen" seat in fair shape, fits a keg underneath just right. I had the idea of installing a hinge at the front of the seat to tip it forward, then saw the keg in half and convert it to a BBQ grille. I also had the idea of making up two "quick release" sub-frames with tank, seat, handlebars and footpegs, to have 2 passengers (one over each rear wheel) as if they were also riding bikes. OTHER - No title, you're on your own. It's very easy to obtain titles from certain states for motorcycles older than 25 years. SHIPPING - NOT INCLUDED. I highly recommend Keyboard Motorcycle Shipping to the buyer's door, insured. I can disassemble and/or crate the bike FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE. Price now lowered to less than the value of the engine alone. I don't part out bikes, so this is the last chance. BOTTOM LINE As with every bike, project and part I’ve sold online in over 15 years (with 100% satisfaction), the above listing contains no hype, no fluff and NO BULL. SOLD AS-IS. ALL SALES FINAL, NO RETURNS, NO REFUNDS. I've lowered the price to the value of the ENGINE ALONE. Somebody is getting a free trike chassis. Thanx for looking and bidding. |

2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 Review - First Ride
Wed, 23 Mar 2022This cat's claws are sharper than ever Credit: Photos by Kingdom Creative Triumph’s open-class ADV bike, the Tiger 1200 (or Tiger Explorer depending on what era we’re talking about), had begun to get a little long in the tooth. The big cat hadn’t received a major overhaul since its introduction in 2012 – only receiving incremental upgrades to keep the machine relevant over the past 10 years. The Brits did give the bike some refreshes and new tech over that time, but nothing compared to the latest iteration that I was lucky enough to get a proper two-day test of around the backroads and trails of the Iberian Peninsula.
New: Venhill 888 fast-action twistgrips
Fri, 01 Mar 2013CONTROL specialist Venhill has launched its new 888 range of bike-specific fast action twistgrips. Supplied complete with the company's top of the range Featherlight cables, the kits are designed for a straightforward replacement of the factory-fitted equipment. Bike-specific kits are now available for the Honda CBR600F, Kawasaki ZX-6R/ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R600/750, Triumph 675 Daytona and Yamaha R1/R6, among others, with prices from £105. Here's Venhill's description of the new product: "Manufactured with a robust CNC machined alloy body, the 888 fast action twistgrip provides a choice of two settings and is supplied with two rotors so that riders can select the throttle action that best suits the riding conditions. Settings can be changed swiftly by undoing the two set screws securing the throttle body and changing the rotor. On the fastest setting there is 80° of rotation, (taking up 36mm of the cable), which is typically 45% faster than 'standard' throttles.
