Triumph Bonneville description

Here we have a 1971 Triumph Bonneville project. I've owned this bike for 34 years and as I get older I realize I need to let it go.
 Right
before I moved to N.C. from N.Y I had the entire engine rebuilt by a so called professional but he must have been having a bad day. After riding only a few hours, the right side piston starved of oil hence damaging the piston and jug.I had no time to take it back to him because I was committed to moving. Always figured I'd fix it myself but obviously it never happend.
What the bike needs is a top end repair. You will get the original jug which my be able to be saved but also a spare that would just need to be gone through.

New tires at rebuild however they are 20 plus years old. I don't see any evidence of dry rot but it's your call wether to use them or not.

The seat is a custom one off with leather and Python.

Boyer Brandson electronic ignition.Needs battery.

Front wheel chrome is great condition, rear wheel is 16" and needs rechroming, probably cheaper to have a new wheel made.

Engine covers need rechroming.

Fuel tank was relined and holding up well.

The swing arm had a section taken out of it to allow clearence for the tire. This was done by Don Hutchison in Mass.
and no he did not do the engine work but I guess he sould have. While working on the bike he noticed there were spacers missing from the front forks. He replaced them and I had a 6" over front fork. That being said it changed the whole geometry of the bike rendering the kickstand virtually useless. It will hold the bike up but at the angle it is it's hard to kick start. The fix would be just to reposition the kickstand lug.

Well I think I've covered everything but I'm sure I've missed something so ask questions.

Now the small print. At auctions end I want a $50.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit paid through Paypal. The balance to be paid  in cash,no exceptions!I can store the bike a reasonable amount of time until you or your shipping agent can get here to pick it up.

The only thing I want off of the bike is the license plate frame and the N.Y plate itself. I do have a transferable registration in my name and a notorized bill of sale if you want it.

2013 Triumph Trophy Recalled for Incorrect Tire Label

Mon, 24 Dec 2012

The 2013 Triumph Trophy is being recalled because a NHTSA label listing the sport-tourer’s tire data has the wrong information. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the tire label on some Triumph Trophy models list erroneous tire and laden weight information. The labels are mandated by NHTSA and can be found affixed to the left side of the main frame headstock on the Trophy.
