Triumph Bonneville description

Vintage 1968 Triumph Bonneville T120R 650cc - Numbers Matching Project Rebuilt

Bike is in overall good shape for its age.  This was a project that was abandoned at some point.  I believe the previous owner got the frame powder coated and rebuilt the engine.  Looking through the spark plug hole, I saw that the pistons are .010 over, and are brand new.  Valve guides are new as well.  All of which leads me to believe that this motor is in fact rebuilt.  It may need a gasket kit to be safe.  To make this bike a roller, I installed new fork tubes, seal holders and seals, and converted the neck bearings to the tapered roller style.  Rear shocks are vintage Koni pieces.  Tank and fender match, and tank is very clean inside.  I bought this to build into a scrambler, but it's now taking up space in the garage.  I have a clean, notarized AZ title from the previous owner.

Buyer to pay $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit at the end of the auction with balance due within 7 days unless prior arrangements are made.

Buyer to arrange shipping or pick up from Tucson, AZ.  I can deliver within a reasonable distance for a fee.

PLEASE NOTE:  I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN WHEN THIS AUCTION ENDS. I WILL BE IN THE WEST VIRGINIA AREA,  IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS BUYER I MAY BE ABLE TO LOAD IN MY TRUCK AND TAKE IT WITH ME FOR DELIVERY.

The Commander sports a tougher image than the regular Thunderbird, boasting dual bug-eye headlights and a beefy 47mm Showa fork holding a fat 140/75-17 tire.

Buddy Holly, Ariel Cyclone, 1958

Above is some fantastic home movie footage of Buddy Holly and the Crickets messing around on motorbikes in 1958. The story behind the bikes in the video starts after Buddy Holly, Joe Mauldin and Jerry Allison came back from a successful tour in 1958, flush with cash. The trio decided to spend their rock and roll dollars on brand new motorcycles.

2013 Triumph Tiger Sport Announced

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

Triumph revealed a new version of its 1050cc Tiger named the Tiger Sport. Triumph currently lists this new Tiger Sport beside its Tiger 1050 on the Triumph website’s 2013 offerings but the new model appears to be a replacement for the previous model which has been relatively unchanged since its introduction in 2007. Officially unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show, the 2013 Triumph Tiger Sport receives new body panels, tail and windscreen but perhaps the most notable design change is the new single-sided swingarm which better shows off the black cast aluminum alloy multi-spoke rear wheel.
