Suzuki RM description

1971 Suzuki TM 400

-no hidden reserve-

1971 Suzuki TM400M - Early serial numbered bike with a build date of April 1971. Oil injection has been removed and bike runs on pre-mix now. Brand new crank seals along with a new 2nd over bore top-end just installed, so this bike will need to be broken-in properly by next owner. Excellent early original OEM Suzuki fenders (very hard to find), restored rust free OEM tank to perfection, beautiful original Akront rimmed wheels with good Metzler tires. Aftermarket Bassani pipe is almost perfect, which really smooths out the '71's brutal powerband while adding even more power. In addition to this pipe, a 1 lb. flywheel weight was attached to ignition. Correct forks rebuilt w/original style shocks. New seat cover. Correct airbox with new Uni filter. Frame/swingarm is stock and un-modified, and in great shape too. The combination of pipe & flywheel-weight helps these first year bikes with better traction and power delivery. Most people don't know that Suzuki quickly realised that these '71 bikes were drastically overpowered for their suspension, so beginning with the '72 bikes power was systematically reduced year by year in order to create a better balanced race machine. The mods on this bike with flywheel and pipe really make this bike much more user friendly, but still very fast. Bike has been restored and is really beautiful.

The Suzuki GSX-R1000 is the flag-ship sportbike for Suzuki, this video shows how its all put together in Japan.  The 2009 Gixxer liter machine underwent such comprehensive redesign (though it looks remarkably similar to ‘08) that Suzuki refers to the update as “a full model change” which was introduced to us about one-year ago.
