Motorcycles at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show

Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.

K-Tech release 25SSK for Big Piston Forks

K-Tech have released their popular 25SSK front fork open cartridge system to fit all Showa Big Piston Forks. Here's what K-Tech have to say about them: These lightweight aluminium units are supplied to the same exacting specification as all other 25SSK fitments with 14mm piston rods and a 25mm cartridge tube, the 14mm piston rods displace a large volume of oil through the 25mm control pistons giving enhanced damping characteristics over the standard Big Piston Fork and allow a bigger volume of air for a more precise feel at the bottom of the fork travel. 2013 US Motorcycle Sales Data

The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) reported a modest 1.4% growth in U.S. motorcycle and scooter sales in 2013, with consumers purchasing 465,783 vehicles. The sales data represents numbers from the MIC’s member brands which include BMW, Can-Am, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, the Piaggio Group (which includes Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Vespa), Victory, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha.
