Excellent condition. 17257 miles. Engine is in perfect shape and runs like new. Carbs cleaned and balanced. Fresh oil change and filter. Fresh air filter service. New battery. New chain and sprockets. Flush mount rear turn signals. Custom rider and passenger seat modified to move the rider closer to the ground. Seat vinyl is in excellent shape. New tires front and rear. 2" Cobra drag pipes with 4" baffles. Custom chrome grips. Custom chrome mirror.  Custom forwards controls that are fully adjustable.  All electrics in working condition. Covers and chrome in excellent shape.  There is a small dent in the left side of the tank, but it extremely minor and doesn't affect the integrity of the paint. Sale includes pictured fork bag.

Just because you have the name Jorge Lorenzo on your screen and you've won a world championship doesn't mean you'll get an easy time at scrutineering. In Qatar the technical inspection staff made the factory Yamaha mechanics remove bodywork and unbolt some electrical components in order to get a better look at the guts of the 2011 M1. Everything was in order of course but what a great opportunity for the scrutineers to exercise their power and have a poke around the most high tech Yamaha on the planet.

MotoGP to Standardize ECU Software in 2016 Season

MotoGP‘s Grand Prix Commission announced the series will adopt a standardized Engine Control Unit hardware and software programming for all entries starting with the 2016 season. At the moment, all teams are required to use a standard ECU hardware supplied by Magneti Marelli. Teams competing under the Factory option are allowed to use their own proprietary software programming while Open option participants must use standardized software.

It was good to catch up with my old mate Daryl Beattie last weekend in Misano. Daryl was pushing Mick Doohan hard for the 500cc World Championship in 1995 until he high sided and broke his collar bone in Assen mid way through the year. He eventually finished runner up in the series but then some fairly big tumbles from his Lucky Strike Suzuki in 1996 brought his career to a premature end.
