Suzuki Reports Q2 2012-2013 Results

Suzuki made headlines earlier this week when its American subsidiary filed for Chapter 11 and announced it is quitting the automobile business to focus on motorcycles and its marine operations. American Suzuki‘s car business has been struggling for a while and it remains to be seen how these developments will affect its motorcycle business. Elena Myers First Woman to Win at Daytona

Elena Myers made history once again, winning the second of two AMA Supersport races at Daytona International Speedway. The win was Myers’ second professional AMA victory and gives her the distinction of being the first female racer to ever win a professional motorsports race at the famed Daytona circuit. The SuzukiScoopFans M4 Suzuki rider became the first woman to win an AMA race, taking an AMA Supersport race at Infineon Raceway in 2010.

Emile van Essen is from North Holland and, in a stroke of brilliance/lunacy, has replaced the original two-stroke three-cylinder of a 1976 Suzuki GT550 with a turbine. Sadly it does take a bit of time to get going, although any displeasure you might feel as a result would no doubt be offset by the joy of riding down the street emitting an ear-splitting howl, shattering glass and generally disturbing the peace.
