Suzuki GSX-R description

Up for sale is my baby.  It pains me greatly to be selling her and I have looked after her since purchasing her in 2009 as though we would grow old together but I cant really afford it right now.

Bike was purchased in Canada but imported legally into the USA and passes all the necessary safety requirements.

You will almost certainly not find a faster 600.  I have done quite a bit of work on it-all of which to make it perform.  It weighs in at a svelte 385 lbs fully fuelled which is about 350ish lbs dry.

Upgrades include

Super sprox power up kit-rear has an aluminum carrier but steel teeth so light and durable

i did a minus one tooth to the front and plus four to the rear.  i found it a bit exhausting on the longer rides so i purchased a stock tooth front to bring the gearing a bit closer to stock.  that gear is not currently on the bike but i will include it in the sale so you can pick between the two.

Heal-Tech speedo healer-no matter what gearing you use or whether you want miles per hour or kilometers per hour, your dash will show you your speed with accuracy.

Orient Express stage one intake/exhaust kit-includes the titanium slip on (sounds amazing!), a k&n air filter, and powercommander III.  The bike at the time of installation was given a base map but was never dyno tuned to perfection.  Really it always ran really well the way it was so it wasnt a priority to me.  I also have the stock exhaust which i will add to the sale in case you need to dock your boat and you left your anchor at home.

Michelin Power 3 tires front and rear- these have maybe a few hundred miles on them and have plenty of life left (fantastic tires too btw)

Cintered racing brake pads front and rear with braided lines for the front.  Pads should have lots of life left and I have a spare pair i will toss in.

Shorai lithium-iron lightweight battery and charge kit.

Vortex Racing rearsets.

custom cafe racer headlight 3d milled by me and took well over 100 hours of painstaking design and milling.  It accepts the rizoma indicators as an integrated design and the piaa xt-004 lights.  The lights have high and low beam for legality, and moreover, they are damn bright.

Rear fender eliminator.

GSXRs are prone to rectifier/stator malfuncions and-lucky you-this one went last year and was just replaced over the winter so no worries there.

Full disclosure-this bike has been down but I have been riding it for the last few years since then and it tracks straight as an arrow and has a clean bill of health from numerous mechanics, last of which being at Greater Boston Motorsports.  The extent of the damage that is left is entirely cosmetic except one thing-this bike requires a replacement right front fork.  It has worked fine the last 2 years with it in its current condition but the fork seal finally let go.  I have looked up the parts and there are a few options.  Brand new fork from Suzuki is $1100 for the part or what I was going to do was source the part used on ebay for a few hundred dollars.  The asking price reflects this so no low balls please.

I have lots of extras in the garage as well as front and rear pitbull pitstands and it is all included.

I might budge a bit on the price but if its more than a bit be ready to get ignored.

Motorcycle So Big It Needs Training Wheels

Tue, 21 May 2013

Apparently, the American motto of “bigger is better” has struck a chord with someone in China, of all places. This giant beast of a motorcycle measures over 14 feet long and almost eight feet tall, and was built by a Chinese sewage plant worker in his spare time. The motorcycle is so big, it needs outriggers to make sure it doesn’t tip over.

2009-2011 Suzuki GSX-R1000 Recalled for Side Stand Interlock Switch

Fri, 01 Jun 2012

Suzuki is issuing a recall for 2009-2011 GSX-R1000 because of a potential failure of the side stand interlock switch. The interlock switch is what cuts off the ignition circuit on a motorcycle when the side stand is down and the transmission is in any gear except neutral. Its purpose is to prevent a motorcycle from moving with the stand deployed.

The rumors had been flying. Speculation swirled but many didn’t think it would actually happen. It was recently confirmed that the breakup is in fact official.
