The GSX-R1000 is sharply styled and its fairing houses multi-reflector, vertically mounted headlights for a narrow profile, improved aerodynamics and highly effective ram air system. This narrow theme is carried throughout the machine with the slim tank and sleek tail section. The GSX-R gauge features a white-faced stepping motor analog tachometer, digital LCD speedometer, odometer/tripmeter, clock and water temperature readouts. LEDs are also used for the turn signal, high beam, neutral and fuel level indicators. Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?
Tue, 30 Dec 2008A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.

James Stewart Suspended After Positive Drug Test
Fri, 20 Jun 2014AMA Supercross and Motocross racer James Stewart has been provisionally suspended by the International Motorcycling Federation after a drug sample tested positive for amphetamines. The positive test was from the April 12 AMA Supercross round in Seattle. The three podium finishes in the 450 class in Seattle were tested.
