Suzuki GS description

You are looking at a low mileage, excellent condition nearly stock 2008 Suzuki gs500f. I put drag bars on it but I have the original bars if you want it back to stock. The original bars raise the grips about 2 inches and rake back a bit more that the ones in the picture. It has a more leaned over feel now. Only about 3600 miles on this bike. I dropped it on a sandy right turn from a stop sign at low speed. The only damage is cosmetic as you can see from the 2 close up pictures of the muffler and crank cover. The plastics on the bike were undamaged. Nothing is bent or broken and both could be replaced if desired. The mileage will go up as I still ride it, but not significantly. This bike gets upwards of 60 MPG. I am 180lbs and this bike has lots of pull and handles great. This would be a great starter bike or commuter bike or just a fun bike to run on the weekends on the twisty roads.
Also, the bike won't be available for delivery until the week of August 7th. But you can check it out and test ride it before then. I am upgrading and the new one won't be available for delivery until that week. Minors will not be allowed to test ride without a parent present. If I don't sell it, I will trade it for the new one so don't hesitate on this deal. It will be traded by August 10th if I still have it. I will periodically lower my price as the trade date approaches. A full price deal will also include a nice leather Suzuki Icon branded racing style jacket size large. Call or text me at three-one-nine-31zero-8537.

AMA Supercross: 2012 New Orleans Results

Mon, 16 Apr 2012

Ryan Villopoto has already secured the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to let up and take it easy over the remainder of the season. The Monster Energy Kawasaki racer clinched his second consecutive title two weeks ago in Houston, Texas, but he continued his dominance in AMA Supercross’ return to New Orleans’ Superdome, taking the holeshot and leading all 20 laps for his ninth win of the season in 14 rounds. The New Orleans round may have lacked some big names currently nursing injuries such as Ryan Dungey, James Stewart and Chad Reed, but Villopoto provided a star effort in the first AMA Supercross race in the city since 2009.

Team Hammer Releases Martin Cardenas

Fri, 04 Jan 2013

AMA Pro Racing’s Team Hammer has released Martin Cardenas from his contract to allow the reigning AMA Daytona Sportbike Champion “to better pursue his goal of returning to World Championship competition as soon as possible.” Though the eventual goal appears to be for Cardenas to move up to the World Superbike Championship, rumors have Cardenas landing with the Yoshimura Suzuki factory team to race in the AMA Superbike Championship in 2013 as an eventual stepping stone towards international racing. Cardenas won the 2010 and 2012 AMA Daytona Sportbike championships with Team Hammer riding a Suzuki GSX-R600. Team Hammer held a contract option for Cardenas for the 2013 season but decided to release the Colombian racer, allowing him to take a different route towards a WSBK career.

The 2014 AMA Pro Road Racing season resumes this weekend with the Subway SuperBike Doubleheader at Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wis., and all eyes will be on 21-year-old AMA Pro SuperBike rookie Cameron Beaubier on the No. 2 Monster Energy Graves Yamaha YZF-R1. Beaubier may be the new kid on the block, but he entered the season opener at Daytona International Speedway with high expectations.
