Suzuki GS description
HEY ALL,THIS IS MIKE. I'VE BEEN A GS GUY SINCE 1978 . THEY ARE IN MY OPINION, THE MOST HI TECH AND INNOVATE BIKE OF ITS ERA..OH YEAH,THEY BEAT ALL OTHER MAKES IN THE SAME CLASS TOO.
THIS BIKE WAS STORED IN A GARAGE SINCE NEW, TO 1999. I HAVE NO ROOM IN THE GARAGE, AND I CHOSE THIS BIKE TO OFFER TO YOU. IM SORRY IT HAS TO GO.. THE BIKE LIVES ON THE EAST COAST OF NY SO UNFORTUNATELY THROUGH THE YEARS IN STORAGE, SHE ACQUIRED SOME AGE SPOTS LIKE OUR GRANDPARENTS DID.. IF YOU LIKE YOU CAN REMOVE ORE REPLACE MOST OF THE RUST THAT IS ON ALL THE HARDWARE (NUTS AND BOLTS ,ETC) THE RIMS,ENGINE COVERS,AND PAINT WILL CLEAN UP WITH THE RIGHT CARE WITH THIS MILEAGE I CAN SAY NOTHING BUT IT IS STILL A BRAND NEW BIKE AND THE MOTOR STILL HAS THE BREAK IN OIL FROM SUZUKI MOTOR CO. (SEE ENG CHECK LEVEL PHOTO) THE OIL STILL IS HONEY GOLD AS IT SHOULD BE THE CARBS WERE DRAINED PROPERLY BEFORE STORING, AND ASIDES FROM PUTTING IN A REPLACEMENT BATTERY AND SOME FRESH HI TEST GAS,THE BIKE FIRED UP ON THE FIRST STARTING CYCLE FULLY CHOKED. THAT'S A SUZUKI FOR YOU !!! THE PAINT IS STILL NEW EXCEPT SOME OF THE DECAL STRIPING HAS SINCE BEEN PEELED OFF SOME HOW. THE INSIDE OF THE TANK LOOKS THE SAME AS IT DID IN 1981. VERY LUCKY FOR THAT MANY YEARS. ALL THAT DEPENDS ON THE STORAGE ,AND ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS. I WANTED TO RIDE THE BIKE SO I WAS FORCED TO SERVICE THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THE BRAKE FLUID WAS OLD AND CHOCOLATEY AND I COULDN'T IGNORE THAT.. ALL THREE CALIPER'S WERE REMOVED,PISTONS POPPED OUT AND SERVICED CLEANING OUT ALL THE OLD FLUID. CALIPER PISTON O RINGS WERE NOT TOUCHED. THEY WERE FLAWLESS. THE MOTOR IS NOT BROKEN IN AS OF YET SO A 6,000 RPM MAX IS SUGGESTED UNTIL 600 MILES. UPON A FEW QUICK ACCELERATIONS,THE 4 VALVE PER CYLINDER MOTOR IS FULL OF POWER AND WAITING TO BE RIDDEN ANYWHERE. THIS GS MAKES A GREAT FIRST BIKE TO THE NEW RIDER.OR A ADDITION TO YOUR EXISTING COLLECTION. SHE'S LIGHTWEIGHT AND HANDLES LIKE A CAT CHASING A MOUSE. JUST LIKE A GS SHOULD. THE REAR TIRE IS ORIGINAL BUT BECAUSE OF AIR LOSS IN THE FRONT,THE FRONT TIRE DEVELOPED A FLAT SPOT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I DID SO WITH A VERY STICKY NEW SHINKO. THANKS FOR THAT MATT ! IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN ALASKA,AND WANT "ME" TO PERSONALLY DELIVER IT WITH MY SPECIAL CARE,CALL ME AND WE CAN WORK OUT A FAIR DELIVERY PRICE THAT WORKS FOR BOTH OF US, AFTER THE BIKE IS PAID FOR IN FULL OF COURSE LOCAL PICK UP IS OK,AND OR I WILL ASSIST THE SHIPPER OF YOU CHOICE AS SOON AS THIS BEAUTY IS PAID FOR IN FULL. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME BECAUSE ITS ALSO LISTED ON EBAY CLASSIFIED,AND CRAIG'S LIST. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU WHO BID. SHE'S A NO FRILLS NO BULLSHIT BIKE. THANKS TO ALL WHO READ MY AUCTION, AND ALWAYS....... "HONOR AMERICA"----------MIKE ;O) |

Suzuki Reports Q3 2013-2014 Sales Results
Fri, 07 Feb 2014Suzuki reported a 13.1% decrease in motorcycle sales volume over the first three quarters of its 2013-2014 fiscal year, but still managed a 17.8% increase in net sales from its motorcycle division. That may seem like a paradox, but the results can be explained by a more favorable exchange rate for the Japanese yen and by looking closer at where those sales decreases took place. The yen has turned around significantly over the last year and a half, vastly improving how foreign sales affect Suzuki’s bottom line.
Suzuki Reports Q1 2013-2014 Results
Thu, 01 Aug 2013Suzuki reported an 18.5% increase in net sales from its motorcycle business in its first quarter ended June 30, 2013. Suzuki reports sales of 70.5 billion yen (US$710.1 million) from its motorcycle business, an increase from 59.5 billion yen reported in the same quarter last year. Unfortunately, despite increasing revenue, Suzuki’s motorcycle operations still remains in the red, operating at a loss of 2.7 billion yen (US$27.2 million) compared to a loss of 3.5 billion yen in the first quarter last year.
