Suzuki GS description

This is a 1980 Suzuki GS550E.  It is in pretty good original condition.  It will run, but it runs rough. I consider this to be a project bike, not road ready.  It needs the carbs cleaned and a good tune up as well as a new fuel petcock and fuel lines, and tank cleaned at a minimum.  The electrics all work fine including the electric start.  The bike shifts good through the gears.  The brakes work, but are a little sticky.  The battery is good. The side covers are missing.  This is a nice overall project and it comes with a clean and clear title.

While I have described the bike to the best of my abilities, I am not a professional mechanic.  Therefore, this listing is subject to inadvertent errors and omissions.  I welcome and encourage all prospective buyers to come and check out the bike in person and inspect it prior to bidding.  Please look closely at all the pictures on a desktop computer to best see the condition.  The bike is being sold 'as is' with no warranty or guarantees. By bidding on the bike, you agree that this motorcycle does not come with any warranties, either expressed or implied. The buyer is offered the opportunity to examine the motorcycle in person or by representative if they choose, to ascertain if the condition of said motorcycle meets the buyer's standards. Shots Fired at Suzuki Motorcycle India Factory as Labor Strife Heats Up

A man is facing charges after reports of gunshots and employees allegedly assaulted with glass bottles at Suzuki’s motorcycle plant in Gurgaon, India, as workers demonstrated in a sympathy strike in support of their counterparts at a Suzuki automobile plant. According to the Indian Express, a man representing a company which supplies contract workers for Suzuki Motorcycle India allegedly fired his gun into the air and assaulted workers with beer bottles to intimidate them into calling off the strike. Two people were reportedly injured by thrown bottles.

Suzuki to Close Spanish Motorcycle Factory

The digital ink is still wet on news of American Suzuki declaring bankruptcy and shutting down its car business to focus on powersports and marine products, and now there’s more bad news for the Japanese manufacturer. Suzuki announced it will close its motorcycle factory in Gijón, Spain, in March, 2013, shutting the company’s sole European production plant. The factory has been producing motorcycles and scooters for Suzuki since 1984, with the manufacturer taking 100% ownership of the factory.
