An old friend dropped in this weekend, on his way back from an arse-killing 4,500 mile ride to Estoril and back to watch the MotoGP race. He has only ever ridden Harley chops and old stuff with the exception of his vague nod at practicality and modernity - an ancient, very, very high mileage R1100GS BMW. I made him a brew and some pasta arrabiatta then made him ride my 2011 Fireblade.

Apparently, the American motto of “bigger is better” has struck a chord with someone in China, of all places. This giant beast of a motorcycle measures over 14 feet long and almost eight feet tall, and was built by a Chinese sewage plant worker in his spare time. The motorcycle is so big, it needs outriggers to make sure it doesn’t tip over.

The first video of a four-part series documenting Team Suzuki’s MotoGP development process for its return to MotoGP in 2015 featuring behind-the-scenes and on-track footage is now available for viewing. Further programs will be available here on January 4th, January 7th and January 10th.  Episode 1 The Suzuki MotoGP test program gets underway in March at Suzuki’s Development base in Ryuyo, Japan with behind-the-scenes footage, on-track action and an interview with Suzuki MotoGP test rider Nobu Aoki. Episode 2 The team moves to Twin Ring Motegi in Japan in April and May where MotoGP rider Randy De Puniet joins the team as test rider.
