Suzuki GS description

This listing is for a 1979 Suzuki GS 1000 S Wes Cooley replica motorcycle. These bikes have become extremely rare and hard to find. S models were only produced for 2 years having a very low production of roughly 600 each year.

This bike is a project bike. IT DOES NOT RUN AT PRESENT TIME! I purchased this bike several years ago with intentions of restoring. It has always been stored in heated garage with gas tank empty.

Bike was repainted prior to my purchase to mimic the Red European version. Overall paint job is good 7/10. Bike has approx. 9000 miles on speedometer and I believe to be correct. Bike is complete with the exceptions of missing mirrors and turn signals. Header and Air pods have been added at some point. Tank is VERY clean and NO dents. Front fender has a couple creases. Rear tire is Great and front tire has good tread with cracking. I believe there are issues with the Electrical system. Put a battery in and red and green light comes on by ignition, but nothing up front works. If you hit the rear brakes the rear light comes on. I was told upon my purchase that the bike did run at the point prior to paint job. My best guess is something was screwed up reconnecting the front wiring. That is about all I know for certain.

This would make a great rare bike for someone who not afraid of a challenge. I have owned several Wes Cooleys of various conditions in the past and know very well their value's. I am asking what I believe to be a fair market value price. I am willing to listen to reasonable offers!! PLEASE don't waste my time with ridiculous low ball offers. Bike is also listed local and I reserve the right to end listing at any time, unless there is a withstanding best offer submitted. PLEASE ask any and all questions prior to purchase or offer. My E-mail is mixed up at the present time, so PLEASE be patient and I will respond as soon as I can.  AS ALL SALES ARE FINAL!

I am willing to assist in shipping any way I can. Immediate $500 Pay-pal deposit is required at time of purchase. Balance to be be paid in CASH at time of pick-up. Other payment arrangements must be worked out with me prior to completion of sale. If buyer backs out of sale for any reason $250 of deposit will be forfeited. If you don't agree with these guidelines. DON"T BID! Thanks for looking.

Donington Park in the United Kingdom is one of the most unique racetracks on the World Superbike calendar. With wide, fast, sweeping corners combined with tight chicanes and road undulations, the track is challenging for many riders. Here, climb on board with Giuliano Rovelli as he pilots a Suzuki GSX-R1000 around the track with several Nilox cameras mounted for a bevy of different angles.

Teaser: 2012 Japanese Literbike Shootout – Video

Thu, 29 Mar 2012

The last time we assembled the superbike offerings from the Big Four Japanese manufacturers to determine the alpha male model was 2009. The CBR won that confrontation, but a lot’s changed since then. For 2012 Honda revamped the CBR1000RR, Yamaha added traction control to the R1, the GSX-R1000 lost a muffler and last year Kawasaki introduced an all-new ZX-10R.
