Suzuki DR-Z description

2009 Suzuki Dr-Z 400S, 2009 DRZ 400s with 11,600 miles. This bike has been used primarily for use around the city and long trips within the US. Aside flat dirt roads, this bike has not been taken off-road or abused in any way. This bike comes with a couple of thousand $ worth in upgrades and mods. These include: Yoshimura exhaust system, new jet kit, 4gal Clarke gas tank (I have the stock 2.5 gal if you want it), Renthal high bar, Dakar windscreen, cargo rack and side luggage racks, battery upgrade and battery tender plug, Free power mod done two months ago, stator upgrade, Acerbis rally handguards, Skid plate imported from the UK, Corbin seat (stock seat is a torture), heavy duty tubes (I have also two spare ones that I will give you), longer MSR shift lever (you also get the stock one). Brand new brake pads in the front and the rear ones have more than 60% of their life left. Brand new chain and sprockets (15/44). This bike has been kept in my mother's garage in the winter and I have been very diligent with its maintenance. Oil changes every 1.5k miles and I always use K&N filters (I've also got a couple extra that I'll throw in there), and I also lubricate the chain regularly. This bike is all set for long trips or for daily use around town. Everything is in perfect working order. Please contact me only with serious inquiries. I will not ship or hand over this bike until payment in full has clear or made in cash and I do not accept paypal as a form of payment. If you're from out of state you must arrange shipping, pickup, etc. Only individuals interested in buying the bike for themselves may contact me. And dealers... no, I do not wish your help selling this bike or any service of that sort. Interested please call Ivan @ 732.6006236 $4,390.00 7326006236

Day 7 Dakar 2014: Barreda Wins Another

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

After a day of rest, Sunday’s stage seven was characterized by rain during the night and a new Dakar country – Bolivia. After an early start at 4:30 in the morning, the first 62 miles of the special stage into Bolivia had to be shortened due to rain and poor visibility, low-hanging clouds that prevented the helicopters from taking off creating security issues. The route led across the Andes and towards the Bolivian border.

1974: Onboard an MV racer with Phil Read

Fri, 19 Feb 2010

ANOTHER CRACKING BIT of vintage racing footage, this time featuring multiple motorcycle world champion Phil Read on the awesome-sounding MV Agusta 500-4.The footage is from the 1974 movie 'The Iron Horse' made by Frenchman Pierre-William Glenn.Read’s 1974 500cc World Championship victory was the last year a four-stroke won the world title before the advent of the MotoGP class in 2002. Giacomo Agostini won the crown from Yamaha in 1975, followed by Suzuki-mounted Barry Sheene in '76 and '77. The footage is bloody good, considering the camera technology of the day.

AMA Supercross: 2012 New Orleans Results

Mon, 16 Apr 2012

Ryan Villopoto has already secured the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to let up and take it easy over the remainder of the season. The Monster Energy Kawasaki racer clinched his second consecutive title two weeks ago in Houston, Texas, but he continued his dominance in AMA Supercross’ return to New Orleans’ Superdome, taking the holeshot and leading all 20 laps for his ninth win of the season in 14 rounds. The New Orleans round may have lacked some big names currently nursing injuries such as Ryan Dungey, James Stewart and Chad Reed, but Villopoto provided a star effort in the first AMA Supercross race in the city since 2009.
