Suzuki Boulevard description

Located in the San Francisco Bay Area (North Oakland)

Project started in Summer of 2015, finished in the winter.  I started riding it every day about 3 months ago.

The donor bike was a 2001 S40 with 10,000 miles. It was stripped and rebuilt around the Ryca kit.  I have about $6500 into this thing. I ride it daily, but I'm looking for a bigger, more touring-oriented bike at this point. The bike is beautiful, but it is also based on a 15 year old donor bike, so it has the usual wear and tear (never dropped, tho). Additionally, the paint on the front of the tank isn't absolutely perfect - I had to use some Bondo to smooth over the welds that Ryca does in the gas tank (part of the kit) and my Bondo skills weren't perfect.  It's not particularly visible (it's on the front, downward slope of the tank, usually obscured by the handlebars).  Some sanding and touch-up would probably fix it. Photo included below.

I have matching automotive paint in rattle cans.

Tank has been epoxied inside with Red Kote.

Belt is in great shape.

Turn signals work.

Rebuilt carb with new slide/diaphragm

New cables (brakes, clutch

)New headlight and housing

New Battery

New suspension -front/rear

New tires

Upgraded front stainless brake line, new brake pads front/rear

Tons of cool parts available from Ryca Motors website

I just added a muffler insert b/c the thing was just TOO loud without it. It still sounds awesome.

The header pipe is wrapped in some of my photos - it is not currently wrapped, though.  I liked the way it looked with black wrapping, but the black dye started to fade and it looked bad, so I took it off.

Goodbye Hyperbike: Suzuki Ends Hayabusa Production

Thu, 27 Dec 2018

The legendary beast goes down in history after twenty years of dominating the highways, dragstrips and the earth's surface in general. The hyperbike is being discontinued due to non-compliance with the Euro-4 environmental standard, but its story does not end there. The company is clearly preparing its successor, as indicated by the renewal of the Hayabusa trademarks.

Racing vows renewed at Motegi

Mon, 04 Oct 2010

Over the weekend, an aged Japanese racer reacquainted himself with one of his early loves. Celebrating 50 years of Suzuki racing, Mitsuo Ito took his former flame, the RM63, for a trip down memory lane and a lap around the Motegi circuit. The miniscule 50cc race bike was born from the legend of MZ employee Ernst Degner's defection from East Germany to Japan during the early days of the Cold War.

Kevin Schwantz Once Again Wearing RS Taichi

Mon, 07 Apr 2014

It’s official – Kevin Schwantz will return to his early years of wearing RS Taichi. While Schwantz wore RS Taichi gear during several of his memorable seasons in the 500cc class, his partnership and success with Taichi apparel all started with his victory at the 1988 Daytona 200. And now that Schwantz and the Circuit of the Americas have settled their differences, the 1993 world champ took to the track in RS Taichi leathers again for the first time recently at the Circuit of The Americas media day, as newly appointed motorcycle ambassador for the circuit.
