Suzuki Boulevard description
The Boulevard or Savage uses a 30 horsepower, 652 cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, sohc engine, also referred to as thumper. This engine delivers good performance at moderate revs compared to most Japanese motorcycle engines. The Boulevard 650 is a good motorcycle for beginners with its easy handling and light weight at 352 pound. Its cruiser design and ease of maintenance also make it suitable for older, more experienced riders. Fri, 22 Dec 2023A tech-laden, long-legged addition to the K5 family Photography by: Ula Serra, Amylee Photography Suzuki has produced more than 180,000 of its K5 999 cc Inline Four cylinder engine in the last 18 years, and now we’re seeing that engine tasked with powering a tall sport touring bike that Suzuki calls the “supreme sport crossover," sitting between the sport-touring GSX-S1000GT that the GX is heavily based on, and adventure tourers like that of Suzuki’s V-Strom line. Leggy sport tourers, or crossovers, aren’t exactly a new thing, and since bikes like the Kawasaki Versys, Yamaha Tracer 9 GT, and BMW S 1000 XR exist, there is already some healthy competition for Hamamatsu to contend with. Suzuki tells us this is its most technologically advanced motorcycle yet, making the GSX-S1000GX a sort of flagship product for the brand.
James Stewart Suspended After Positive Drug Test
Fri, 20 Jun 2014AMA Supercross and Motocross racer James Stewart has been provisionally suspended by the International Motorcycling Federation after a drug sample tested positive for amphetamines. The positive test was from the April 12 AMA Supercross round in Seattle. The three podium finishes in the 450 class in Seattle were tested.
Michelin Unveils New Tire for Dual Sport Motorcycles
Wed, 06 Feb 2013More than half of the new BMW R 1200 GSs that roll off the assembly line in 2013 will be fitted with Michelin’s new big trail tire, the Anakee III. BMW and Michelin worked together to co-develop the dual-sport tire, which is designed to deliver all the safety and off road capability big trail motorcycle users demand. The Anakee III will also be available as a replacement option for other leading dual sport bikes, like the Suzuki V-Strom, Kawasaki KLR, Triumph Tiger and Yamaha Super Tenere.
