1975 Norton Commando (1975)
Up for sale is a 1975 Norton Commando MKIII that has had a very comprehensive restoration. I'll start at the beginning of the story: I heard about this particular bike sitting in someones garage in the high desert in California. The last time it had been on the road was 1980, as per the story, and the last registration date on the blue California license plate which is original to the bike. I made contact with the owner, who purchased the bike in 1978.2016-07-04 05:01:53Bakersfield, California, United States2827000 -
1971 Norton Commando (1971)
Ok i bought this from the second owner. He had re wired the bike and put in an electronic ignition with new coils..( It had sat for a while in a climate controlled garage..) When I got it I took it to Baxter Cycle and had them put 2 new Amal carbs on it. They also went over it and tidied up anything that needed doing...Since then, I have put about 30 miles on it...I now have a 75 850 and can't keep both...There is a small dent in the right muffler from the kickstart rubbing on it and the previous owner put some tap on a small crack on the rear fender...Otherwise ,it starts on one kick..Snarls like a Norton should and the electrics work...Looks to be original headlight and tires....I am by no means an expert and since I did not buy it new I can't verify it is all original but it sure does look like it to me...I have a copy of the previous owners title that states the mileage is accurate and everything else looks original and great..If you have less than 10 feedbacks contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid...Thanks!!2016-07-01 05:04:31Bennington, Nebraska, United States411000 -
1974 Norton Commando (1974)
1974 Norton Commando 850 This is a nice mostly original bike with original paint, seat, etc. The Amal carbs were serviced sometime ago. The bike will need a little TLC (tune up) most likely as it has been stored in a climate controlled warehouse with an extensive collection of bikes.2016-06-25 05:09:14Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States77900 -
1974 Norton Commando (1974)
OK, I've owned this bike for 39 years, bought in 1977 and I need to pass it on. The bike has a Boyer ignition, Mikuni VM 34 carb with a 240 pilot, Barnett clutch, non-sumping valve, fairly new Metzler tires, chain and everything else you see in the pictures including 39 years worth of spare parts and manuals. I had the top end done, the tires and chain maybe 500 miles ago; battery is to spec and two years old. As a younger man I've had the bike up to Jersey a few times, "tried" to outrun a Georgia state trooper back in the day and, well you guys can imagine the rest. I'm a semi-retired mining engineer and my body just doesn't cooperate like it used to so there you go. I know the bike inside and out and it is in great form; no runs, drips or errors. Sure, I coulda' washed it before I took the pics but just didn't feel like it. Some of the parts are new, used and/or original to this bike, i.e., from the dual Amal configuration and other modifications. I had also rebuilt a sister to this bike which I sold to a chap in New Zealand a few years ago which also increased the parts inventory. Any questions, let me know.2016-06-20 05:09:17Abingdon, Virginia, United States1711,000.00 -
1970 Norton Commando (1970)
This is a beautiful Norton bike! I purchased it from the original owner. The bike sat in his shop for 8 years. I cleaned the carbs, points, adj. valves and it fired on third kick.] The bike was blue when I got it, (not my favorite color) so I had it professionally painted with decal's clear coated...real nice! The bike is real solid, all numbers match. I believe it is stock, the original owner said the top end has only 1,000 miles since overhaul and I believe him. Real strong compression..has the combat cam.2016-06-14 16:22:35Anderson, California, United States136,000.00 -

1974 Norton Commando (1974)
This bike was found languishing in a garage since 2002. It was tricked out as a cafe racer and looked pretty shabby, but had a lot of potential. The best thing about it was that the engine had been completely rebuilt, including new head, valves, pistons and Concentric Amal carbs, some 5000 miles before it was parked, by Bill Mankin at Rabbers in San Jose, CA.2016-06-14 16:22:07Glorieta, New Mexico, United States3120000 -

Norton Commando 1975 Electric Start MK3 850cc (1975)
Very nice low mileage original Norton Commando E start. This bike I believe is a 1 owner and has 12,000 original miles. Original bike owned for most of it's life by a family friend. This bike is original to the Midwest. Still has original Union key. Clear title in my name can be shipped worldwide without issue. The Good: - 4 brush starter spins like a top - Yusa Gel Battery (1 year old) - Good Front tire & brand new rear Dunlop k81s (See photos) - Updated cosmetics: Professional Black paint, lined tank & pin stripes as original by Cliff Anderson - 1n the 90's at 9500 miles the motor was freshened up by Steve Hamel and Head redone by Dick's porting (They typically split up engine rebuilds that way). The owner was paranoid about 75's having a soft cam, and that was replaced, pistons, ring, valve job all done. Bike still is standard bore and all original Norton parts were used, (Hepolites, Norton Cam (still have wrapper and Norton part number on it) no junk, no pattern parts used. - Motor is oil tight, no stripped exhaust ports broken fins etc.2013-10-21 00:02:57Shakopee, Minnesota, US9508,900.00 -

2025 Royal Enfield Classic 650 Review - First Ride
Wed, 13 Nov 2024Royal Enfield leans heavily into its British heritage for this modern take on classic styling I'm standing outside a pub in the cool of English autumn - a pint of hand-pulled ale in one hand, paper-wrapped fish and chips in the other. Beside me, a factory engineer draws casually from a hand-rolled cigarette and we cheerfully discuss the classic British motorcycle parked in front of us. This whole thing is an English nationalist's fever dream.

2025 Royal Enfield Bear 650 Review – First Ride
Tue, 05 Nov 2024A highly customizable scrambler with ’60s style On a frigid January morning in 1960, a teenage rookie lined up with another 764 riders on the start line of The Big Bear Run, the maddest, baddest point-to-point desert race on the calendar. At just 16 years old, Eddie Moulder etched his name in motorcycle history that day, riding his 500cc Royal Enfield to victory. He was one of just 207 finishers and crossed the line with a bent handlebar and one less rear shock than he started with.

2025 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Review – First Ride
Tue, 30 Jul 2024RE adds to its modern lineup Photos by Motocom Rolling out of the underground parking garage where a DJ had seen us off by kickin’ the jams, we were greeted by the warm hug of Barcelona’s summer weather as the orange morning light splayed across the beautiful Catalan capital. Admittedly, traffic was light, so squirting through the city streets on our way to the surrounding hills was a breeze, making it even more so, was Royal Enfield’s latest addition to its lineup: the Guerrilla 450. Somewhat of a street scrambler-style motorcycle, the Guerrilla 450 shares many similarities with the Himalayan that was developed alongside it.

2024 Royal Enfield Himalayan Review – First Ride
Tue, 23 Jul 2024The Himalayan continues to trailblaze for Royal Enfield Photos by Royal Enfield “Capable but not intimidating; that has been the ethos of the Himalayan from the start,” according to Royal Enfield. I think we can all agree, that pretty well sums up the simple, retro adventure bike from the Indian brand. Has the massive overhaul the Himalayan received changed this character?
2024 Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Review – Second Ride
Wed, 27 Mar 2024A mid-size cruiser with a steadfast engine and elevated technology upgrades Photos by Royal Enfield Taking a giant leap into creating a motorcycle platform with customization in mind, the Shotgun 650 is, at its heart, the quintessential mid-sized cruiser, wrapped in sleek and simple bobber style cladding, and adorned with the latest technology upgrades. Standing squarely in the present, the Shotgun 650 takes the time tested Royal Enfield 650 twin-cylinder engine and provides it with the sleek shape and style of a completely modern cruiser. While standard bikes are the lifeblood of this brand, the cruiser-esque Shotgun 650 stands out in the lineup as a breath of fresh air to the retro-styled Royal Enfields of the previous decades.

Mon, 15 Jan 2024Born of creative chaos Photos by Royal Enfield Motorcycles In the past six years since Royal Enfield launched its first 650cc twin-cylinder bikes of the modern era in the 2018 model year, the well-developed, well-built and well-priced Interceptor and Continental GT have catapulted the Indian manufacturer into a leading role in the global middleweight motorcycle market. These two debut models were joined a year ago by the Super Meteor, the first of what was billed as a series of Custom versions on the same twin-cylinder platform. This has, if anything, been even more of a global hit than its two predecessors, despite holdups in supplies to various markets of these, the three most costly and most powerful models in Royal Enfield’s range, which its CEO Siddhartha Lal says he expected at the outset would have greatest appeal to export customers.

Fri, 20 Oct 2023An Indian take on a uniquely American form of motorcycling Photos: 360Media One week ago I was racing motorcycles around Barber Motorsports Park, pushing my limits and going around in circles at triple digit speeds. After an adrenaline-filled week, I found myself in Dallas, Texas slowing down the pace and riding a cruiser. As the token sportbike guy, I actually appreciate a bit of balance in my life, which is exactly why I get the itch to ride cruisers every so often.
