Other P55 description
Fully restored and operational classic wartime-era French Peugeot motorcycle, 1946 P55 125cc, recently imported from France. These bikes were designed and prototyped during the war, but not produced until the immediate postwar period (see advertisement in photos). Therefore the bike is acceptable for WWII reenacting, and is done up as a wartime police bike of the Gendarmerie. Bikes of this type were used by all European armies, including the German army. The motorcycle was completely stripped down and professionally restored in France (see other photo showing the bike during restoration) and it is cosmetically and mechanically in great condition. Since import the bike has been professionally serviced, including a new chain and new rear tire (I have damaged original) new spark plug. Everything works! The bike has a two-stroke engine burning a 3:1 gas:oil mixture, runs, starts and stops, has front-wheel hand brake and foot pedal rear brake. Has rear foot pegs installed for (small) passenger and brass fire extinguisher with French label. Has clear title card and plates from Vermont. Will also provide a Bill of Sale. Leather saddlebags also included. An extra $150.00 will buy a brand-new trailer hitch carrier and securing straps. I cannot deliver, buyer must arrange for transport. I will assist if I can. I have discovered I'm a little too old to be wrestling with a kick-start motorcycle, which is why I'm selling this really nice little motorcycle. Of course, with a machine this old, no warranty is stated or implied. $500.00 deposit required at end of auction, pickup within 30 days unless other arrangements made. Paypal is best option, no pickup until checks clear, will accept cash or certified check at pickup. Happy bidding!
