Vintage 1978 Maico 250.
I bought this bike from a fellow who had it in his shed. It has been my race bike for the last 7 years.
During that time I have only raced it 7 or 8 times. I changed and or replaced the following items. New plastic, tires, Pro taper bars, Terry cables, new throttle and levers,Maico Only pipe and muffler, wide pegs,PVL ignition,new seat cover,rear wheel trued,foam air filter and new screen.
It also needed a new kickstarter and I replaced it with a KTM unit.
Primary chain has been replaced.
I stripped the red paint off the tank, liked the look and kept it that way. I also replaced the tank stickers.
New piston and bore 2 years ago and have only ridden it once since then.
The bike has sat for the last 2 years un ridden. I will most likely kick my self for selling it but I have moved on and am riding downhill mountain bikes now.
It starts easy, but after sitting for so long i did need to push it down my driveway.
It started right up. The bike is very fast.
