Other CCM 580 description
1976 CCM 580
Vintage MX This rare CCM has been stored indoors, on display at a motorcycle museum for many years. It is in nice condition, and mostly original. From what we've been told the gas tank and wheels are not original. It has great compression, but we have not ridden the bike or had it running since we've owned it. As stated, it's just been on display. Would make a great collector or rider! Please see all photos. ENGINE NO: 9090 10 76 11 5 FRAME NO: 76 095 History on this CCM: Developed from BSA's demise from the racing scene, these were true 'works bikes' that the general public could actually buy. Developed by Alan Clews, these bikes were full-on custom built to be the ultimate 4-stroke motocrosser's of their day. These were very expensive bikes costing $4000 in 1976! Hand built nickle plated chromoly frame. Each bike was 100% hand built utilising the absolute best components and true 'works' BSA motors, and are largely considered by most today to be the ultimate vintage thumper racers of all time.
