1972 Other Makes on 2040-motos

1972 Rickman Montesa I have owned since 1973.  This is almost entirely original. Bought from a friend that bought it new.  It sat for years in my storage. I inspected the entire motor, replaced main bearings and seals, installed a NOS cylinder so it would have new exhaust threads, NOS standard piston, 3rd and 4th gears on both shafts were replaced with NOS gears, and cleaned up the frame. It also has new cables, the original Dougherty levers, Wassel grips, bars are straight and original, wheels are in great shape. Original Girling shocks are still in good working order, no leaks. Forks are also in great condition.  I do have the original Reynolds chain for it. I also have a used original rear tire that I will include.  Overall, this bike looks like a true survivor.

  Some items to note, some surface rust on the chrome and nickel plating.  Most seems to come clean with some steel wool and WD-40. One small repair to a front mount, one dent in the header pipe, the gas tank paint is faded. I have another Rickman I plan to keep, so this one is for sale.  This starts first kick after priming the AMAL carb.  It runs strong, shifts good, handles superb. Check all the photos, and please ask questions if you have any. This would be easy to restore to concourse condition, it needs nothing done to the internals, and shows well even as is.  PayPal deposit of $250 required 48 hours after winning bid, balance due in 7 days.
