A little bit of interesting history. The Italian firm ISOTHERMOS were manufacturers of refrigerated truck bodies after World Wad Two. They designed and patented the well known "Thermos" flask. In the early fifties they introduced the ISO scooter followed by several models of lightweight motorcycles
In 1954 they presented a micro car called the ISETTA ("Little Iso") powered by their own 236cc two stroke engine. This tiny bubble car drew the attention of BMW who manufactured it under license in Germany using a 250cc BMW engine. Later models had a 300cc engine. The financial success of this agreement allowed ISO to develop the ISO RIVOLTA luxury car followed by the ISO GRIFO and ISO LELE. The fairly rare scooter on offer now has undergone an older restoration. Complete and in running condition. 125cc twin piston single head engine (Twingle) as used in the Austrian PUCH motorcycles. 3 speed. Nice condition still needing a few minor cosmetic details. Clear California title in my name. Also comes with the original 1951 Italian title for historical purposes. Original 1951 Milano license plate. Speedo reads 15178 ikms (approx 9425 miles) but this may or may not be the actual mileage of this 65 year old classic. You are welcome to visit in Tarzana. (San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles). Please call 818 705 8655. I am downsizing my nearly 30 year collection of Italian bikes. I have put a very fair reserve price that represents less than the replacement value. Great addition to any collection of rare scooters. I hope this cool classic finds a new custodian, |
