The Shortster was HD's first version of a mini motorcycle. 3 speed gearbox, real clutch, and 2 stroke 65cc engine. This bike has all original paint finishes and patina. I have not done anything to it cosmetically, aside from waxing the tank. The tank is the original paint, and in outstanding condition for its age and the quality of the Italian paint. It has only very minor blemishes and shines unbelievably, no dents. The inside of the tank has been correctly coated with POR-15. This bike came to me from Southern California via Ebay several years ago. At the time, it was basically engine and frame and wheels. From Ebay, I have purchased the necessary parts to put it together. It starts and runs easily. It has new tires, new battery, new points and condenser, new wheel bearings, new tail light, NOS speedometer, hand grips, mufflers, Engine has some upper noise which is likely piston slap. I think it is okay but could be quieter if someone did a upper end rebuild. I do not have a title. the buyer will have to take my bill of sale to their DMV and apply for a title. The DMV will need about a $100 and will send notification to several neighboring states to see if it would be claimed. The last time it was licensed was in California in about 1976. My intent was to do a professional paint job, metal polish, and complete restoration but health and money didn't let me. So, Buy it to Restore, use if for parts, Buy it to ride (some TLC required), or whatever. It is an old bike. It is all there. I did not go into the engine other than adjust the valves. Kevin Schwantz To Race Goodwood Aboard Norton Featherbed

At 50 years young, the 1993 500cc World Champion will be competing at the prestigious Suzuka 8-Hours in a few weeks, and he’s followed that up with the announcement he will be making his Goodwood Revival debut during the September 12-14 event on an iconic Manx Norton ‘Featherbed’. Schwantz, last raced on UK soil during the 1994 British 500cc Grand Prix at Donington Park, but will tackle the daunting Goodwood Motor Circuit this year in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy, which will be run for bikes of 1951-54 period.
