Norton Commando description

First off, if you have zero feedback, a low number of feedback, or no recent activity on ebay you must contact me prior to bidding. Failure to do so will result in your bid being cancelled. I am sorry to require this, but there are a lot of fake bidders and time wasters out there. It takes time and money to list an item and I want all bidders to be legitimate. Payment is due within 7 days of the auctions end, no exceptions. No Paypal for full purchase. Bike must be picked up within 3 weeks of auctions end or storage fees will apply.

For sale is a fully restored, numbers matching 1972 Norton Commando 750. This bike underwent a very thorough 5 year restoration by one of the nation's top Norton restorers, CMI of Nashville TN. No expenses were spared. Only NOS Norton parts were used. The last picture shows the bill for the restoration totaling over $10,000.00, not including the price of the bike itself. Absolutely nothing went untouched on this bike from frame, to engine, to wiring, to chrome and paint. The main things that aren't original on the bike are the SS tank (very rare), bar end mirrors, single Mikuni carb, and electronic ignition. The combination of the single modern Mikuni carb and the Boyer electronic ignition makes this bike very reliable. I would be comfortable riding this bike anywhere. It starts very easy and on the first kick as shown in the video. Everything on this bike works, including all switches and lights/signals. This bike is the total package. You could use it to ride or show. It's only a new set of header pipes away from being museum quality (because of some blueing), and it rides better than any other Norton you will find out there. This is your chance to buy one of the nicest Nortons out there. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION. THE LAST BIDDER WILL WIN!

I have tried to take plenty of pictures to show all aspects of the bike. I don't want there to be any surprises. Although it's been restored, it's a 42 year old British bike, so don't expect a new one when it arrives. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. The bike does have a clear TN title. The bike is being sold as is, where is with no warranty.

Shipping is the buyers responsibility, but I will work with the shipper of your choice in any way possible. Payment due by bank wire, cash in person, or cashiers check. Full payment is due within 7 days and a $500 non refundable deposit is due via PayPal within 24 hours of auctions end. Please contact me within 24 hours of auction close to make arrangements for payment. All funds must clear my bank prior to bike or title being released. The bike must be picked up within 3 weeks of auctions end or a storage fee will apply. Please have an idea of the shipping cost and who you're going to use before you bid if you plan on having the bike shipped.

Bonhams Auctions 1966 Norton Manx For $100K

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

The top selling model of Bonhams annual sale of collectors’ motorcycles, a 1966 Norton 350cc Manx prepared by legendary tuner Francis Beart and raced by Joe Dunphy and Keith Heckles, fetched a whopping $100,481 last Sunday. The auction price more than doubled the top selling estimate and set a new world record for a Manx sold at auction. Eighty percent of the 436 lots offered sold at the auction totaling $2,168,314 Hot on its heels came the technological marvel from an earlier era that produced the sale’s best result when the 250cc Moto Morini Grand Prix racer from the 1960s fetched $145,081. The Molnar Norton Manx, prepared and entered by Fred Walmsley for the late World Champion Barry Sheene,  sold for $89,490.

The Sporton: A Sportster-Powered Norton

Thu, 30 May 2013

The guys at BikeExif have found another subtle, yet wild custom cafe racer. This time it’s a Norton Featherbed frame stuffed with a 1969 Harley-Davidson Ironhead V-Twin. And if that’s not strange enough, this bike and its owner/builder hail from Malaysia!

Norton Signs Cameron Donald to Race Isle of Man TT

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

Norton Motorcycles has signed two-time TT winner Cameron Donald to a three-year contract to race in the Isle of Man TT. Donald will ride the Norton SG3 sportbike in the Dainese Superbike and PokerStars Senior TT classes, starting both races seeded 19th. That matches the number of the late Steve Hislop, the last Norton rider to win on the Isle of Man with a victory in the 1992 Senior TT race.
