Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 description
This is a BRAND NEW Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 GT 8V - This bike comes with the legendary 8 Valve 1200cc motor with Roller Rockers and Shaft Drive. Speed, Power and Reliability all in one cross-country high speed package.
Don't take my word for it...what does Cycle World's Mark Hoyer have to say about this motorcycle? Any time I start riding a Moto Guzzi, I feel like my beard starts to grow faster. It’s a phenomenon familiar to anybody who’s been around Guzzis since, oh, the late 1970s, when the reputation of the bikes began changing from that of sporting Italian exotics like Ferraris to durable touring rigs for oddballs. The Norge has come a long way since my first ride on one in 2006. Power and refinement from the eight-valve, 1151cc air/oil-cooled engine is mightily improved, as is overall running quality, thanks to new cams, higher compression and increased cooling capacity. Torque flows thick and full-bodied like an Amarone at a Veronese wedding. Claimed output is 102 horsepower and 77 foot-pounds of torque, these peak numbers not giving a hint of how smoothly and ably the engine pulls from near-idle rpm. The 6.1-gallon fuel capacity makes it easy to surpass 240 miles on a tank. A good-shifting six-speed transmission (with shaft final drive) makes top-gear cruise a serene experience. The chassis is a bigger improvement than the engine. A new, stiffer fork and shock lend this bike improved cornering poise while maintaining a pleasantly smooth ride quality. From the comfortable, 31-inch-high saddle, the weight feels low and the bike is quite manageable at parking lot speed. In fact, one of the bike’s most attractive elements is its approachable size. The saddlebags are spacious enough, each with room to fit a full-face helmet. Though we complain about the removal of the bags, if one were to own the bike, the process would become second nature in no time. Elastic bands with a center snap are located within the main compartment of each bag and within the lids, making it a little easier to partition the items within the bags if you want. The bags add some width to the rear of the Norge, so lane-splitters should remember them when filtering through traffic. Understand the Norge is meant for touring comfort, and it rewards with a pleasing ride. Only the most extreme of road irregularities are transmitted to the rider, and the electronically adjustablewindscreen performs admirably at diverting air over the rider’s helmet. Brembo four-pot calipers are not radially mounted, but they still bite the 320mm front discs with the stopping power we’ve become accustomed to from the Italian company. That is to say, they work great, providing powerful speed retardation with plenty of feel. ABS comes standard, and we were pleased they require a considerable squeeze before either end activates while riding on dry pavement. THIS IS A BRAND NEW MOTORCYCLE - IT COMES WITH A FULL 2 YEAR UNLIMITED MILEAGE WARRANTY The regular MSRP on this motorcycle is $16,290.00 Plus Tax - Title - Prep - Shipping. EICMA 2008: First Impressions
Mon, 03 Nov 2008I have had a little walk around checking out the preparations for the show. I haven’t seen anything that I haven’t already seen or heard about previously, but here’s a selection from three of the halls. Yamaha are the only manufacturer to use an industrial crane to place some of its bikes up on high rise stands.
