Moto Guzzi Convert 1000 tech info
Moto Guzzi Convert 1000 description
1981 Moto Guzzi Convert 1000. This is a 2 speed automatic which has proven over the years to be a highly reliable design. It is especially well suited to use with a sidecar or a trike style setup. This bike starts, runs and rides very well. Hasn't been ridden much in past couple of years and probably is due for a tune-up. Tank is clean, brakes are good, lights all work including brake light, horn works. Gears and clutch are good. Torque converter is good so works great as an automatic. Seat is good but has a couple of places that have been repaired. Tires have good tread and rear tire is fairly new. Battery is good. Wheels are solid and look good. Bike received new pistons and rings a couple of years ago. Also has timing gears rather than the original timing chain ($300 upgrade). Also has an "outsider" oil filter (another upgrade). The black paint is OK but shows its age. Bike has always been garaged. Overall, this is a good reliable old bike that has been ridden and taken care of over the years. It is not a "show bike" but could easily be turned into one. Call me if you have any questions: 918-589-4140 (home) or 918-804-4379 (cell).

EICMA 2008: First Impressions
Mon, 03 Nov 2008I have had a little walk around checking out the preparations for the show. I haven’t seen anything that I haven’t already seen or heard about previously, but here’s a selection from three of the halls. Yamaha are the only manufacturer to use an industrial crane to place some of its bikes up on high rise stands.
