Moto Guzzi California II description

This is a nice 1985 Moto Guzzi California II Convert.  The Convert model is a 2 speed automatic transmission. The torque converter on this model is beefy and will surprise you at the acceleration from a light in low range.
The bike is all original except for the K&N Velocity stack air cleaners.  All the chrome was removed and dipped to remove surface rust.  (Not Re-Plated) Good condition La Franconi stainless steel mufflers were polished and added to replace an after market set that was pitted through the chrome.  I went through this bike completely and repaired anything that needed repaired or replaced including the electrical system.  The Cycle Garden in Huntington Beach, CA tuned the bike, flushed fluids in the engine, transmission, torque converter and rear end, modified the distributor for the electronic ignition added by the previous owner. They also installed new front wheel bearings and new Dunlop tires on the front and rear.  Valves were adjusted and the engine tuned and rode hard by Mo the owner to give a degree of comfort just in case I decided to hit the open rode with this one.  The compression is like the day it left the factory.

The factory windshield and all three bags are in really nice condition as the previous owner hardly used them.  The seat cleaned up really nice and has no tears or loose stitching. The gas tank is free of rust and the carburetor's were also rebuilt.  I am including all the receipts and manuals for this bike plus a dust cover.  I have new valve cover gaskets, oil pan gaskets and new oil filter.  The oil is clean and probably wont need changed for a while. After a hard run I may get an oil drop from the overflow.  I overfilled the oil the first time and found out that you don't fill these all the way up as they will spit out the breather hose.

I have had several Moto Guzzis and now have an 86 Lemans IV 1000, so I know these bikes pretty well.  This is a strong runner, starts easy and has a great sound.
The electrical system is all great including flashers, turn signals, brake light, plus the instrument lights, tach and speedo.  The bike features a center stand and side kick stand.  it is wired for a battery tender that is included with the bike.

I am not too excited about parting with this classic, but only have room in my garage for two bikes.  This bike sat in storage for many years before I purchased it. Buyer pays shipping and most are in the $450-$550.00 range depending on where you live in the US.  I have used U-Ship.com several times and had no issues or damage to the bikes.

This one is an attention getter and admired when I park somewhere. I run this on the toll roads here in Orange County with no fear.  Headlamp works great at night as do al the lights.  Front brake also flashes the rear brake light.  Look at all the photos.  The one of the shock coils in the VapoRust is the procedure I used to remove and clean all the chrome.

Piaggio Multimedia Platform iPhone Connectivity Announced for Piaggio X10 Maxi-Scooter

Thu, 05 Jul 2012

Piaggio announced a new iPhone connectivity system set to debut on its new X10 maxi-scooter. The Piaggio Multimedia Platform (PMP) will be available as a kit for the 125cc, 350cc and 500cc versions of the Piaggio X10, and eventually may be introduced to other models in the Piaggio Group (which would include the brands Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Vespa.) Designed by Re:Lab, the PMP system  turns an iPhone into an onboard computer and secondary display. The kit mounts the iPhone over the Piaggio insignia on the center of the X10′s handlebar which, from the rider’s perspective, puts it just below the scooter’s standard instruments.
