MV Agusta Doubles Production Capacity as F3 Rolls Off the Line
Mon, 06 Feb 2012MV Agusta announced it is doubling production capacity at its factory in Varese, Italy, thanks mostly to popular demand of its new F3 675 three-cylinder supersport. Thanks to the hype over new products such as the F3, its naked sibling the Brutale 675, as well as the RR1090 and R1090 Brutales, MV Agusta has already received more orders for 2012 than it had for all of 2011, which saw a 12% increase in sales over 2010. To mark the doubling of production capacity as well as the start of production for the special edition F3 Serie Oro, MV Agusta released a video of the bike being constructed on its assembly line.
2010 MV Agusta Brutale 990R and 1090RR First Impressions
Wed, 30 Sep 2009MV Agusta has revealed the latest iterations of its Brutale naked sportbikes. Although looking much like the previous 989R and 1078RR, these new editions have been full overhauled with revisions to their four-cylinder engines and significant chassis tweaks. Both versions use a lighter engine crankcase than before, and both have names that suggest a displacement different than what is actually under the tank.
MV Agusta to Bring Back Cagiva as an Electric Motorcycle Brand
Tue, 13 Mar 2018The dormant Italian brand Cagiva is coming back with electric off-road bikes, with the first prototypes expected to come this fall at EICMA. The news was announced by Giovanni Castiglioni, chief executive officer of the Cagiva brand’s rights holder, MV Agusta, during the press launch for the 2018 Brutale 800RR (look for that review shortly). Cagiva (whose name is a portmonteau derived from the name of its founder, Castiglioni’s grandfather, also named Giovanni) first entered the motorcycle business in 1978, and made a name for itself in both Grand Prix road racing and off-road racing in motocross and notably winning the Dakar Rally in 1990 and 1994 with the Cagiva Elefant (pictured above).
