MV Agusta F4 and F3 to Compete in 2012 Isle of Man TT

MV Agusta is returning to Isle of Man TT competition with the World Performance Racing team entering an F4 and an F3. The Italian brand has a storied history in the Isle of Man TT, with the legendary Giacomo Agostini winning 10 times under the MV Agusta banner. Overall, MV Agusta claims 34 TT race victories and 61 podiums at the Isle of Man.

Massimo Tamburini: 1943 – 2014

Massimo Tamburini, creator of some of the industry’s most iconic motorcycle designs, has succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 70. Tamburini was diagnosed with the disease last November and underwent chemotherapy treatment but passed away April 6. Earning renown for designing motorcycles such as the Ducati 916 and the MV Agusta F4, Tamburini’s name will be forever linked with those two companies, as well as Cagiva and helped found Bimota (Tamburini is the “Ta” in the company’s name.) Yikes! $18,895 was a lot of money for a motorcycle 20 years ago, but not enough to keep friend of MO Michael Cottam from bringing home a brand new MV, flogging it for a few thousand miles, and living to tell the tale. Verily, I’m going to have to take a look at what these things are going for on the used market… it’s a good day for resurrection.
