You are bidding on a MINT 1973 Z1 900 Meticulous Restoration  

·         Motor:  #Z1E13xxx

·         Serious collectors:  Engine and Frame #s are exactly 160 from each other

·         Highly collectible example

·         Bike is mechanically perfect, starts immediately, and all electrical components are operable

·         Professionally re-painted body set:  gas tank, side covers, tail section (vinyl stripe kit was not used)

·         Original tank badges and side cover emblems

·         Original chrome front and rear fender (front one was re-chromed)

·         Original 1973 tach and speedo, grab rail, handlebar switches, shocks (these were re-chromed)

·         New maintenance – free battery with tender lead, electronic ignition added, new chain and sprockets

·         Original re-built 28 mm carb set

·         NOS hand grips direct from Japan

·         Original re-built front forks

·         Owner’s Manual and complete tool kit

·         New reproduction Doremi Collection 4-into-4 exhaust set (8-piece) with no stamp (like the original ’73 Z1s

·         Frame, swing arm, battery box and all black parts have been powder-coated glossy black

·         Chrome, stainless or zinc-plated nuts and bolts

A Weighty Issue

For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.
