Kawasaki W650 description

With much regret I am selling my 2000 Kawasaki W650. These motorcycles are highly sought after Japanese classics that Kawasaki styled to look and feel like the Triumph Bonnevilles from the late 60's. They are rare in the US - only 2,500 were sold in the States between 2000 and 2001.

In excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition with the odometer showing about 22,500 miles, this bike has been ridden respectfully and has been properly maintained. I am the third owner and both myself and the former owner garaged it and never rode in the rain. It starts quickly hot or cold by electric start or by kick start, runs strong, idles smoothly, handles well, and is fun to ride. It's a perfect combination: it has the look, feel and sound of a classic British motorcycle along with bulletproof reliability and world class Japanese engineering.

The following COMPLETELY REVERSIBLE bolt-on and cosmetic modifications have made the bike look and feel better than stock:
  • Kawasaki OEM low handlebars with Triumph style barrel grips
  • Halcyon 4" alloy bar end mirrors
  • Corbin Gunfighter leather seat with custom color matched piping and rear panel
  • Custom made triple chrome plated alloy rear fender
  • Triumph style tail light
  • Triumph style front and rear turn signals

All of the factory parts that were removed are included in the sale and the bike could easily be put back to original specification. Also, OEM parts are plentiful (easily available from Kawasaki dealers and online) and there is a strong aftermarket for accessories.

Aesthetically, it is close to showroom condition except for a couple of barely noticeable flaws: there is a very small paint nick on the gas tank that has been touched up, one of the Kawasaki emblems on the gas tank has a few small ripples in the chrome (it looks like someone tried to remove it), and there is some black touch-up paint on the top triple tree that looks like it was applied to hide scratches from a key ring. Mechanically, the bike is virtually perfect - there is only known issue. After the bike has been ridden for a while, there is a very small hint of oil on one of the cam cover half-moon gaskets. It's not even a drip - it's such a small amount that one quick swipe of a rag removes it and the spot on the rag is hardly even wet.

Along with all of the original parts, a clean Massachusetts title, original spare key, original owner's manual, and a copy of the Kawasaki factory service manual are also included. Local pickup can be accommodated, otherwise buyer assumes responsibility for coordinating and paying for shipping.

WSBK 2013: Portimao Race Report

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty split a pair of victories at Portugal’s Portimao circuit while Sylvain Guintoli took advantage of some misfortune to his championship rivals to increase his lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings. Guintoli has been leading or sharing the lead in the championship since winning the first race of Round 1 in Australia, but amazingly continues to lead despite having just that single victory after six rounds. The Aprilia rider has accomplished this through his consistency (Guintoli leads all racers with nine podium finishes in 12 races) and ability to finish each race (he’s the only rider in the top seven without a DNF).

Join our Kawasaki J300 Forum Developed with Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco, the J300 scooter is powered by a 299cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, likely the same motor equipped on the Kymco Downtown 300i which claims an output of 29.5 hp and 18.1 ft-lb.
