From its two-tone ebony and metallic gray paint scheme to its spoked wheels, this Vulcan garners attention wherever it goes. Details, like rider floorboards and tank-mounted instrumentation that includes a handy fuel gauge and an easy-to-read analog speedometer, only strengthen the bike s ties with tradition.
Key Features may include:
903cc V-twin provides an optimal balance of performance and manageability in a stylish package
Digital fuel injection delivers precise throttle control with improved fuel economy
NEW seat features improved lumbar support for the rider and a wider and longer rear section for passenger comfort
Rider floorboards with heel and toe shifter enhance rider comfort and deliver a stronger connection to the motorcycle
Class-leading 5.3-gallon fuel tank
Classically styled tank-mounted instrumentation includes fuel gauge
Fat 180-series rear tire is widest in class and aids in the big bike feel
Efficient belt drive runs cleaner and with less maintenance than a chain while adding to the timeless style of the drive train

Tested: Maxxis Supermaxx Diamond

Fri, 23 Sep 2011

Well Maxxis were bang on with their mileage claims, 6500 miles on the rear and it looks as though there is another 1000. Not bad at all for a set of tyres that cost less than £200. Having lived with the Supermaxx’s Diamonds over the past few months the best thing about these tyres is the mileage range they offer vs cost.

Kawasaki Z1R.

Thu, 09 Dec 2010

These two beautiful Z1R Kawasakis appeared at the annual Mooneyes Yokohama Custom show last weekend. With one sporting a street/strip look (spot the belly-scraping ride height and rigid rear struts) and the other undergoing a sort of modernisation, they both reminded me just how handsome and unique the original slab-sided Z1R was.  Judging by some of the other wild and weird exhibits I made a mental note to myself: must make sure I'm in Japan this time next year.

Five minutes with Stuart Easton

Fri, 10 Aug 2012

Stuart Easton has been the sole hope for Scotland in BSB since his friend and mentor Steve Hislop left us nearly ten years ago. Rat boy, as he’s known to friends, shone in the 125 and Supersport class and until his horrendous crash at the North West 200 last year was a serious contender for the 2011 BSB title. Many (including himself) thought his career may have been over but he astounded everyone by climbing back on the podium just a few rounds into the 2012 season.
