Tue, 29 May 2012Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. Thu, 05 Jun 2014Dave Molyneux won his 17th career TT as he and passenger Patrick Farrance took the second Sidecar race of the 2014 Isle of Man TT. Molyneux is the career leader in Sidecar TT wins and third overall in total Isle of Man TT victories behind Joey Dunlop and John McGuinness. Molyneux and Farrance won the race by a good 44-second margin but they benefited greatly from a mechanical problem plaguing early race leaders John Holden and Andrew Winkle.
Kawasaki Reports Q4 2011-2012 Results
Tue, 01 May 2012Kawasaki reported a slight increase in sales while reducing the operating loss from its motorcycle and engine division during its fiscal year ended March 31, 2011. According to its year-end report, Kawasaki‘s motorcycle and engine business generated 235.2 billion yen (US$2.9 billion) in sales, a slight increase from the 234.4 million yen reported the year before. Kawasaki still suffered a loss from the division, though the loss of 2.959 million yen was still an improvement from the operating loss of 5.0 million yen reported the year prior.
