Kawasaki Vulcan tech info
Kawasaki Vulcan description
This is Betsy, my 2013 Kawasaki Voyager 1700. I purchased her new in 2013 and now, due to medical issues, I must give her up. She has unfortunately been down only once. I dropped her on the sand at a lake. Only minor scrapes to the right side saddlebag though. She is mostly stock. I have added a pair of speaker grills with turn signal/flashers built in. Also the I Pod connector and I Pod are included. She has been kept covered and under a carport. Performance wise, she has given me no problems. She fires up right away every time. On the road she extremely quick and nimble (for a 900 lb bike). Includes with her will be a front disk lock, full dress cover, owners manual, digital service manual, I Pod with connector, helmet (if needed) and a front wheel holder for maint. Both original keys and a Kawasaki extended warranty through June 2018.
She is in Los Angeles, CA. Please see You Tube video, search for "Ralph and Betsy". Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for checking her out. |

Geeky snippets ahead of the Phillip Island MotoGP
Tue, 13 Oct 2009Valentino Rossi has finished on the podium eleven times in his twelve visits to Phillip Island across all three GP classes. The only race at Phillip Island that he did not finish in the top three was on his first visit riding a 125cc machine in 1997 when he finished sixth. In 1998 and 1999 he won the 250cc races and since then has had nine podiums in the premier-class including five victories, the last of which was in 2005.
A Weighty Issue
Mon, 03 Nov 2008For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.
Jeremy Toye Wins 92nd Running Of Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
Mon, 30 Jun 2014On his first attempt at the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, road racer Jeremy Toye set a record in the premiere Open Class to win the category aboard a 2015 Kawasaki ZX-10R, celebrating the 30th year of the legendary Ninja brand. Prior to setting foot on the hill, Toye was confident he could get among the class leaders, aiming to beat the outright Pikes Peak motorcycle record, which was set by Carlin Dunne in 2012 with a time of 9:52.819. While that record remains intact, Toye was able to set a time of 9:58.687 to win the Open Class, finishing 6sec ahead of his closest rival, Fabrice Lambert aboard a Ducati.
