The Vulcan 500 LTD gets its power from a 498cc parallel-twin, based on the same engine that powers the NINJA 500R sportbike. Liquid cooling helps this cruiser maintain consistent operating temperatures for longer engine life and sustained power. The engine has also been tuned to deliver power as suited to boulevard cruising as it is to more spirited riding. The six-speed transmission, complete with Kawasakis exclusive Positive Neutral Finder, allows riders to use the engine to its full potential. Equally user-friendly is the chassis, the backbone of which is a long, low steel frame that contributes to the 500 LTDs classic cruiser looks. Providing support for a saddle thats just 28 inches from the ground, it puts just about any size rider at ease. Mon, 15 Apr 2013Hometown hero Ryan Dungey put a stop to Ryan Villopoto‘s winning streak, taking the victory before 48,846 supportive fans at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn. The Red Bull KTM rider from nearby Belle Plaine, Minn., stalked Monster Energy Kawasaki‘s Villopoto for most of the race before taking the lead and winning the 20-lap race by just 0.903 seconds. The win put Dungey into second place in the standings ahead of Rockstar Suzuki‘s Davi Millsaps and perhaps more importantly, cut away at Villopoto’s points lead.

NHTSA Launches Recall Look-up by VIN Tool
