Kawasaki Other description

Up for bid is a very nice 2008 Kawasaki Concours 14 with ABS.  After a 20-year production run of the original ZG1000 Concours, Kawasaki introduced the ZG1400 as a 2008 model, and this new iteration represented a significant update in terms of power, handling and braking.  There are numerous reviews and road tests of the Concours on the Internet, and I won’t attempt to detail this bike’s capabilities or virtues in this listing.  However, one resource I refer potential bidders to is the Concours Owners Group (COG) website.  The forums of that site will provide a wealth of data regarding this model, and also detailed product evaluations of the accessories I have added.

This particular bike has been nicely and expensively upgraded for touring with a Sargent World Sport seat, Oxford Heaterz heated grips, National Cycle V-Stream aftermarket windscreen, Delkevic carbon-fiber silencer, Buell Ulysses footpegs (one inch lower than stock) and Advanced Sport Touring highway pegs.  The stock seat, exhaust and footpegs will all be included with the sale.  Current mileage is just under 21,000 miles, but may change as the bike is ridden during the course of the auction.

The bike is in extremely good shape for its age, showing only minor wear from use.  It has been well-maintained and is parked in a heated garage and connected to a smart charger when not being ridden.  The only problem I am aware of is that both tire pressure monitors are inoperative, a common issue with these bikes.  Since I always check my tire pressure manually before a ride, I haven’t investigated if it is simply a dead battery or sending unit failure.

I have tried to capture the overall condition of the bike in my photos.  However, I always urge potential buyers to ask questions before bidding.  I will do my best to provide the requested information, take additional photographs as required or re-examine the bike if more description is needed.  Recognize that I am an established eBay user with perfect seller feedback on over 60 motorcycle-related transactions, and always make every attempt to be as accurate and honest as possible in my listings.

Please note that this bike is currently financed through my credit union, and I am unable to personally transfer ownership to a new buyer without a new title first being issued in my name, even with a cash purchase.  Therefore, it will be the responsibility of the winning bidder to arrange payoff and title transfer directly through my financial institution, although I will help in any way I can.  Please contact me if you require additional clarification of this point.  Similarly, shipping costs and arrangements will be the responsibility of the winning bidder.  I am unable to deliver the bike to a shipping facility, but with prior arrangement can be available to assist with pick-up.

My reserve is set substantially below the Kelly Blue Book suggested retail value and the NADA average retail.  Here is an opportunity to purchase a beautiful Concours 14 with ABS at a great price.

Thank you for looking, and good luck bidding!

Kawasaki announced it will unveil a new motorcycle called the Ninja H2 at the Intermot show on Sept. 30 and the evidence suggests it will be a new supercharged sportbike. The Japanese manufacturer first announced last November it was developing a supercharged I-4 engine at the Tokyo Motor Show, and the Ninja H2 announcement suggests that’s exactly what we’ll see in Cologne.

Michael Dunlop won a historic Dainese Superbike race to kick off the 2014 Isle of Man TT week. Riding the S1000RR, Dunlop secured BMW its first win on the Isle of Man since Georg Meier won on a Type 255 Kompressor in 1939. After catching early leader James Hillier of the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team on the opening lap, Dunlop continued to set an impressive first lap time of 17:11.107, which translates to a record average speed of 131.730 mph on the 37.73-mile Mountain Course.

Speed and Fuel TV to Broadcast Kawasaki’s Zero to Hero Challenge Starting This Week

Tue, 14 Aug 2012

Early this year, thousands of drag racers chased the dream and entered Kawasaki’s nationally-promoted “Zero to Hero Challenge,” hoping for the opportunity to face-off against multi-time champion Rickey Gadson and take home a new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R. Beginning this week, Speed and Fuel TV will broadcast the Zero to Hero Challenge across several time slots. Both cable networks will treat viewers to an inside look at the process all contestants went through on their way to challenging Gadson on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway drag strip in May.
