Kawasaki Other description

What a RARE rare find we have here.  It is the very sought after Kawasaki LTD 550-four carb model.  This is a motorcycle that was COMPLETELY gone thru in 2008 and I mean COMPLETELY (& then stored in a climate controlled basement!).  It has show quality custom "flame" paint very nicely done and clear coated to shine like a baby's butt. He put NEW (less than 500 miles) Dunlop front and rear tires (NO dry rot or cracking).  NEW chain and sprockets.  NEW clutch with clutch & throttle cables. NEW front and rear brakes. ALL ORIGINAL keys, factory manual and repair manual. NEW exhaust pipes with Kerker muffler.  Adjustable rear shock settings. The bike was also COMPLETELY GONE THRU at the Kawi dealer when the balance of this work was done (there) so NO stone was left unturned.  He intended to ride this FOREVER and wanted everything "new".

He (Tommy) is only the SECOND (current) owner of the bike.  Original owner was a close friend of the current owner also.  It has NEVER been down.  It had NEVER had an accident or incident. He did ALL THIS WORK to the bike in 2008 (AT the Dealer's) and had a very close friend lose his life while riding a motorcycle and that ended riding for him.  He's kept it STORED IN HIS BASEMENT, and covered for all these years.....hoping he'd regain the desire to ride but now has just resigned himself to the fact that he's not going to.  Sad, but he wants it sold!

So the balance of the bike is in EXCELLENT shape also.  Chrome is FANTASTIC.  NO dings or dents. ALL systems work AS THEY SHOULD.  We drained the very bad and old fuel out, sprayed WD-40 into the lines, replaced the fuel and put a trickle of starting fluid into the air box and as the video shows, started RIGHT UP on the FIRST TRY.   Granted, it WILL NEED the carbs "douched out" at a minimum and maybe more.....but even after some 8+ years it fired right up.  SOLID bike with NO disappointments.  Battery "meters" as good, but MAY need replacing cuz it also was replaced back in 2008.  Other than that, again.....it's an AWESOME bike.

The bike is located in Thompson CT which is in the NE corner of CT right at the MA and RI borders.  Pretty easy access to everywhere.  I WILL help load the bike for any shipping that YOU have to arrange.  Like I mentioned, it DOES have the 2 original keys, owners manual and repair manual and TITLE IN HAND.

Lastly, he's just out of bikes so no trades please.  CA$H also only.  Checks can be used to pay but ALL FUNDS MUST CLEAR BEFORE THE BIKE MOVES so be prepared to wait a minimum of 10 days.  This way, there will be NO SCAMMERS so don't even try.  I'm way too aware.

So ask your questions and I'll HONESTLY answer them all to the best of my (and his) ability.  He BADLY wants this to go to a good new home because he put his heart into this rebuild.  If you are a collector of these bikes or just want a TRUE ANTIQUE motorcycle to ride that's been fully gone thru, do NOT miss out.  This is a RARE chance.  Don't wish later you had acted quicker cuz it IS being advertised on CL AND in the local papers.  We PLAN to let it go the full eBay term, but we ARE offering it with NO RESERVE and for sale LOCALLY as well so it MAY GET SOLD before the listing ends so again......BID if you want it, cuz lookers who don't bid, don't win the bid.

Best of Luck and rest assured....this is a GREAT condition, original RARE bike. Don't miss out.

ABS Option Coming for 2014 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Classic, Nomad and Vaquero

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

Anti-lock brake technology has become fairly commonplace for motorcycles now, and it sometimes comes as a bit of a surprise when a major manufacturer does not offer ABS as an option on certain models. The European Parliament making ABS mandatory by 2016 has helped push things along, as manufacturers work to equip their models with the technology ahead of the deadline, not just for the European market but also for other markets including the U.S. New documents released by the California Air Resources Board reveal Kawasaki will offer an ABS version for its 2014 Vulcan 1700 cruisers and tourers for American consumers.
