Exceptional Condition, Fully Restored!!

This is Kawasaki's original Super Bike in pristine condition!

Specific Details:

·        Original 1973 tach and speedo(completely refurbished), grab rail, handlebar switches, shocks (these were re-chromed)

·        New maintenance – free battery with tender lead, electronic ignition added, new chain and sprockets

This restoration was a purposeful effort to maintain the integrity of the first-year production Z1, using as many original parts as possible. The restoration work is absolutely flawless with attention to detail; unlike many of the quickly assembled reproduction examples you will find on eBay currently. The engine was completely taken apart during the restoration, and the rings, gaskets and valve guide seals were replaced. The bike has the correct head installed using a one-piece head gasket and hollow cams.

Lascorz smiling in first post-crash photo

Nearly three months on since Joan Lascorz's accident in the post-race test at Imola, the first image has appeared showing the Spaniard in good spirits whilst he undergoes rehabilitation. The terrible crash left the 27-year-old factory Kawasaki rider with a fracture to his C6 vertebrae, and fears that it would leave him quadriplegic. Fortunately, as shown in the picture with his raised arm, Lascorz has recovered full sensitivity in his upper limbs.

Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.

Kawasaki received four awards including gold medals for Best Venue and Best Cinematography at the New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards for ads featuring the Ninja ZX-6R (636) and the Z800. The New York Festivals have been celebrating the best in television and films for 55 years. This year’s awards, announced at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in Las Vegas, awarded 119 gold medals, 145 silver medals, 10 bronze medals and 327 finalist certificates for entries representing 50 different countries.
