Kawasaki Other description

REASON FOR SALE: my wife died suddenly 4 months ago and I need to get in money, if not I would not be selling this bike, this was my favorite and is the last one from my collection to go

1971 Kawasaki H1A
I have owned this one since 2009.

Bodywork painted to stock color by Paul Miller Suzuki, CT.
Decals by Rick Brett
Clear Coat by Long Island Russ

Cylinders rebored and very mild port job by Paul Gast and Wiseco Pistons fitted.
The ports have not been changed much, just cleaned up, I believe he referred to it as being Blue Printed.

It has no air canister, instead one big open K&N filter and both the pilot and main jets increased to match. (I thought this was a good idea at the time but now I am not so sure and if I continued to own and ride this bike I would try fitting the stock canister and filter and jetting, just as an experiment to see which works best.)

The front brake has been upgraded by having modern material fitted to the shoes, a custom low friction cable with no stop switch made by Barnett. The brake was adjusted professionally by Yukio Hamasaki (one of the best two stroke mechanics in the New York area). I think it works about as well as one of those brakes could do and likely better than when it was new.

Ignition system replaced by a Lakeland system.

New Reproduction wiring harness fitted.

Ballistic battery

Barnett Clutch Springs

Exhaust System, Headlamp, Rear Axle & Fittings re-chromed

This is not a show bike, it is a very nice stock looking bike, I rode it a lot and it proved to be a fast, fun and reliable rider.

At some point in its' life, the frame broke and it was fitted with a 1970 frame, which is the same as a 1971. This means the registration document reads 1970 but all of the other parts are from a 1971. This never bothered me but I know it does bother some people so I thought I should mention it.

It has a small oil leak from behind the front sprocket, I never worried about this as it is a very small leak, if ridden on a daily basis the leak would be unnoticeable, if the bike is left for the winter there will be a small pool of oil that will collect. All I did was keep an eye on the oil level and top it up about twice a year.

As far as I am aware there are no problems with this bike, please ask me if you have any questions.

Motorcycle Sidecar is Literally a Car

Tue, 21 Jul 2009

Adjectives fail me.  This almost seems like one of those sci-fi movies where an evil scientist tries to cross two deadly animals together to create the ultimate killing machine. So what are we looking at?  It seems to be the deformed love child of a Citroën Xantia and a Kawasaki 1000 RX. This custom project, called “Snaefell“, cost its creator about 15000 Euros and 10 years of part time work.

2014 WSBK – Sepang Results

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

The first ever World Superbike round in Malaysia offered a plenty of drama including both factory Kawasaki riders crashing out on the first lap, a red flagged second race and an overall impressive outing by Aprilia. Under pressure for his lack of results so far this season, Marco Melandri impressed, earning the double for his first career wins on the RSV4 Factory. Aprilia riders led every lap in both races at Sepang, including the red-flagged initial start for Race 2, with Sylvain Guintoli joining his teammate on the podium with a pair of second-place finishes.
