MECHANICAL ADDITIONS INCLUDED A STRENGTHENED SWINGARM (BY A CLAIMED 20%) AND REAR SHOCK WITH A SIDE FACING FLUID RESERVOIR, STIFFENED FRAME WITH RELOCATED SOLID ENGINE MOUNTS, INCREASED TRAIL AND REDUCED FORK OFFSET, AND NEW NISSIN 4 PISTON CALIPER BRAKES AND 320MM DISCS AT THE FRONT WHEEL. SLIGHT ENGINE MODIFICATIONS INCLUDED A RETURN TO THE B/C MODEL STYLE KEIHIN CVKD CARBURATOR AND A 10% HEAVIER CRANKSHAFT OFFSET BY A REDUCED DIAMETER FLYWHEEL REPORTED TO HELP THE ENGINE SPIN QUICKER, BOOSTING LOW AND MID RANGE TORQUE. Mon, 14 Apr 2014Reigning World Superbike Champion Tom Sykes put on a clinic this weekend, leading every lap in both races to claim a pair of wins at Spain’s Motorland Aragon circuit. Sykes’ Kawasaki teammate Loris Baz was right there with him, recording a pair of second-place podiums to give Team Green a pair of one-two finishes. Sykes and Baz were also one-two in the Superpole qualifying on this nearly flawless weekend for the Kawasaki factory team.
AMA Supercross: 2012 Atlanta Results
Mon, 27 Feb 2012Ryan Villopoto‘s winning streak was snapped, KTM scored its second series win and Cole Seely impressed as an injury replacement for Trey Canard as the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship landed in Atlanta, Ga. Racing for the American Honda Muscle Milk team, Seely nabbed the holeshot and led the opening seven laps before finally being overtaken by Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey. Monster Energy Kawasaki‘s Villopoto had a poor start by his standards, finishing the first lap in sixth place.
Update: Bike Stolen On ‘Round The World Adventure Recovered!
Wed, 22 Jan 2014Martin Williams, the man who had his motorcycle stolen halfway through his trip around the world, has been reunited with his Kawasaki. A man walking his dog one morning spotted the bike and reported it to authorities. Williams was obviously elated to get his bike back, but the thieves unfortunately had their way with it before it was recovered.
