Within minutes of their first ride, those journalists realized Kawasaki was true to its word. As one editor later wrote, “The ZX-10R is literally stunning in every sense of the word…when it comes to airing out the adrenals with pure, unadulterated acceleration, nothing exceeds like excess. And nothing else comes close to this Ninja. Nothing.” Generating such a response is the NINJA ZX-10R’s design, which combines high technology with the latest innovations, including a high-output engine, ultra-narrow aluminum frame, ergonomic design and compact bodywork narrower than most 600cc sportbikes. These attributes also make the ZX-10R one of the lightest 1000cc bikes on the market, giving it a superior power-to-weight ratio.

2022 Kawasaki Z650RS Review - First Ride

Fri, 15 Apr 2022

Retro-styling on a middleweight favorite. Credit: Photos by Kevin Wing “I’m not a fan of the Darth Vader looks.” It’s a line we hear often whenever we test one of Kawasaki’s sporty bikes, especially from the Z family of naked bikes. Internally known as the Sugomi design language, Kawasaki says “Someone, or something, possessing sugomi inspires awe, leaves an indelible impression, is daunting in stature or ability, and commands respect.” Maybe it does, or maybe it doesn’t, but angular lines and sharp creases also alienate a section of the motorcycling world who like the modern tech and power from Kawasaki’s Z line, but could do without the sugomi styling.

2014 AMA Supercross – Las Vegas Results

Mon, 05 May 2014

Ryan Villopoto capped off his fourth-consecutive AMA Supercross championship with an impressive victory at the season finale at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider clinched the title at last week’s New Jersey round so he didn’t have to prove anything in Vegas. But he did, leading all 20 laps and winning by nearly 14 seconds.

Kawasaki Patents Design for Naked Single

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Kawasaki has registered a design patent for what appears to be a naked version of its recently revealed 250cc single-cylinder Ninja RR Mono. While the Ninja RR Mono (also known in some markets as the Ninja 250SL) is produced for the Asian market, the new design is registered with the European Union’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, making it more likely to arrive in western markets. The detailed design renderings reveal many clues indicating this is a naked version of the RR Mono.
